While I would have rather him suffered for a long time in jail, good riddance. Sorry if that makes me sound like scum. But, he was scum.
Hopefully this brings some closure for his victims.

Yup. Now being confirmed my several more sources with a public statement: http://ktla.com/2013/09/03/cleveland-kidnapper-ariel-castro-found-dead-in-jail-cell/#axzz2dta6MHbc
I'm of the mindset that suicide in prison is a cop out, but he would have died there anyway and that one decision saves the taxpayers hundreds of thousands of dollars a year. Good riddance to this sadistic animal. There is a special place in Hell for him.
I didn't think about the victims. But yeah, now they don't have to worry about him coming after them ever again.
I now think Cleveland should turn his old property into a dog park so they can all take a dump there. That's what he deserves.
They should prop his carcass up at a shooting range and let the victims go to town.
His victims were held captive for 10 years.
He couldn't handle 4 months. Coward.
Good riddance. I'm glad our tax dollars don't have to support him for another minute. May his soul rot in hell.
Most importantly, I hope this brings some closure to his victims. May they continue their lives in peace and freedom.
A blight on the planet has been removed.
Good riddance to bad rubbish.

I think his place is too scummy even for dog dumps.

I was a bit taken back by the news reporting people angry that he died because he won't go through the court system. Really?
He is dead and we don't have to pay for him to be alive in prison, wasting court time, being a thorn in the side of the three women he abused, etc
Exactly my feeling Brian.
I just wish he'd done it more than ten years ago.
Brian, I do agree with you. I think people are responding that way because they wanted to see events unfold in court and get some answers for these victims. Now we'll never truly know his side of the story. As much as people are happy about this, at the same time, it was a cowardly way out.
The immediate thought i had was that he was "allowed" to commit suicide by the prison, if you get my drift. Smart decision, I think.

Jane - that is a bingo.
"on 30 minute watch" the news reported. OK so whatever he used he crafted, tied up and did his deed.
Go watch a movie. Go play in traffic. This facination with court B.S. is not entertainment. It is damaging to the victims, families, etc
"WE" do not need to know what he did. We do not need to know his story. IF the victims want to speak and share their experiences that is their choice not to be forced by a court because this excuse for life deserves his trial.
Was it a cowardly way out - hell yes. He trapped those women for years and now that the table is turned he couldn't tolerate it?
Thanks for playing. Should have read the rules prior to entering the game.
30 minute watch BS. I'm sure someone "forgot" to watch. Not even the prison system wanted to look at that guy's face another minute. Again, wise decision.
Someone on a friend's Facebook page called it "the honorable thing to do."
And I thought, no, the honorable thing to do would have been to hang himself before kidnapping and torturing his first victim.
I think people get mad about someone like this killing himself in prison because, after years of denying three people any kind of freedom or choice or agency, he chose how to leave this earth. And, though I agree with 'good riddance to bad trash,' there is a part of me that wishes he had no option but to live in a cell for the rest of his days, never knowing a moment's peace or freedom.
A lifetime in prison still would never have been anywhere close to what he did to those women. I'd rather he just be gone.
~ i feel sorry for him
I'm only sorry we won't find out what his reasons were, but I'm not sorry the bastard is dead.
The guy was so heinous that the prison didn't want to waste a penny of the tax payers' money on keeping him alive. I love that they turned their back so he could do away with himself. Never before was good riddance to bad rubbish so apt!

They did tear down the house and turn the property into a public garden.
In many ways, this brings immediate closure to the victims and for that I'm relieved. If this had gone to court, all three women would almost certainly have to come to testify, and I can't imagine how psychologically damaging that would be.
Good. Hopefuully this animal will inspire the animal who bombed boston to imitate him.
