I am re-reading books in my collection since I am too broke to buy more and I have like $20 in library fines that I refuse to pay.
Doing the SAME exact thing...Sense and Sensibility, hehe

I'm still trying to make it through Pepys Diary (the unabridged version). Why do I torture myself like this?

"Silent Species" by Rachel Carson, and I hate it. I have to read it for summer work for Environmental Science AP next school year. As much as I love biology, this book is like reading a text book.

Water for Elephants - Can't remember the author's name, but so far it's a pretty good book.
I just finished reading "Marley and Me", by John Grogan. It was so sad. I was crying so hard I couldn't even see the words on the page.
I read that two books ago...and yeah I was sobbing sitting there hugging my cat...
Currently The Good Life by Jay McInerney
I'm thinking about buying MARCH, last year's (or maybe year before) Pulitzer Prize winner.
Anyone here read it?

"Digital Fortress" by Dan Brown.
I enjoyed his other books - "Deception Point", "Angels and Demons" and "The Da Vinci Code" so I had to check this one out. It is a fast paced, exciting read.
Second Helpings by Megan McCafferty
I recommend this book in the other 2 books in the series, . Extremely funny, witty, witty & an all around good read!
Ix-nay (sp?) on MARCH. I hated Little Women.
I bought THE VIRGIN SUICIDES instead. I've seen the movie maybe five times (maybe less?) and love it. I'm on chapter two, and it's good so far. Very dry. Very much like the movie.
Twelve Sharp by Janet Evanovich
*squeals* I've been waiting a year for this!

A Short History of Tractors in Ukrainian by Marina Lewycka...
A highly amusing, ripping good yarn.
"The Dante Club" by first time novelist Matthew Pearl.
I bought this AGES ago and only now I have the time for it. Only thing is that the narration and the dialogue are quite heavy handed, it doesn't really flow. Still, the subject matter is of my interest so I'll labor through it, I guess.

I'm currently reading "The Kite Runner" by Khaled Hosseini.
It's a "summer reading" book that I'm supposed to read for the university I'll be going to next year. We were sent three books in the mail, and the authors of each of these books will be present at our fall orientation to discuss and answer questions. Good deal.
I'm not too far into it yet, but so far, the book is *fantastic*
TOTALLY JOE, a middle-grades novel by JAMES HOWE.
my man is in the middle of KITE RUNNER
My man is still reading THE DEVIL WEARS PRADA.
And I'm still reading THE VIRGIN SUICIDES.

We just pay-per-viewed Capote, which reminded us of these books.
I just bought Fannie Flagg's new book, CAN'T WAIT TO GET TO HEAVEN. I think I will read it offstage during Laundry and Bourbon/Lone Star. Playing Cletis, I have a LOT of time offstage!
