I'm reading RUNNING WITH SCISSORS.
It's funny, so far, but I'm only on page five.
Just finished LAMB by Christopher Moore.
I laughed my ass off. That guy is so funny.
I'm starting on JONATHAN STRANGE & MR. NORRELL by Susanna Clarke next, though so far I must admit it seems kind of boring.
Mabel, that's exactly why I haven't read that book yet. I found her generally annoying in the movie and hated her friends even more. I loved the movie though.
MissElphie, I read Lamb and Fluke a while back, but only this summer got around to reading his other books. They are all hilarious and very well written, especially Island of the Sequined Love Nun, The Lust Lizard of Melancholy Cove, and A Dirty Job. Fluke is my absolute favorite though.
I'll have to read Fluke next. I've read The Stupidest Angel and Bloodsucking Fiends as well. I just love Moore's crazy sense of humor. I've laughed out loud on the subway at some of his books. People look at me like I'm crazy.

Well, yoda, I found her to be 50 times more obnoxious in the book than Hathaway was in the film. Speaking of the film...it was definitely one of the rare occasions where it was a vast improvement on the book! Sure, Miranda was a bit of a wench, but really, how can you not root for her giving Andrea such a hard time when she's such a snotty brat. Even though the book sucked, I couldn't help but get giddy when Miranda pulled a particularly asinine task out of her ass. Zing!

ROXY'S HEART: the autobiography of the man who calls himself "Mr. Roxy"
It's 15 pages long but riviting.
Maybe I should read it so I can add it to my short list of movies that managed improve on the book. So far there are only two: Last of the Mohicans and The Hole.
A Primer in Power Politics and the Bible...oh I love college classes. I'm totally going to <3 our discussion of the Bible.
I'm reading several books now, yeah for school!!!
The Sacred Chain: A History of the Jewish People
The Abacus and The Sword: The Japanese Penetration of Korea 1895-1910
Various stories from The Norton Anthology of African American Literature
The Making of Modern Japan
A History of the Jews
and
Leviticus, Numbers, and Deuteronomy in the Bible
The Mists of Avalon - one of the best books I've ever read.

I read Mists of Avalon last summer before going to England. It is a great book. just very long.
I love Christopher Moore. I don't usually laugh out loud when I read, but with The Stupidest Angel I had to set the book down several times because I was laughing so hard I couldn't hold on to it anymore.
I just finished Between, Georgia by Joshilyn Jackson. I highly recommend this one. I also highly recommend her first book, Gods In Alabama. She's a very talented writer.

I have to read a mystery (NOT my favorite genre) for English and I picked Velocity by Dean Koontz because NOBODY could recommend me a good mystery but oh well, it's pretty good so far. I have to write literature logs about it though, incorporating literary elements and connections to this, that, and the other thing--it's great, really, it is. I was reading part of a trilogy but I put it on hold because this book is insane and I have to do so much with it. Blahhh.
Goosip Girl
The book it's so bad, yet so addicting.
I really love the Christopher Moore books.
I am back to reading Coyote Blue now.
I actually haven't read Coyote Blue yet. But after seeing you avatar I might as well pick it up, 'cause I ain't going to be sleeping tonight. =P
Ah, nice to see it is successful.

I Never Promised You a Rose Garden and Song of Solomon.
Madame Bovary.
I'm enjoying it, though the title character is getting a little annoying.
meggsison--Velocity is a really good book. How far into it are you? If you are not that far into it, might I suggest changing to Black For Rememberance by Carelene Thompson. I was pinned to my chair due to the suspense and you will NEVER guess who the killer is.
Recently finished IF GOD IS LOVE by Philip Gulley and James Mulholland, the follow-up to IF GRACE IS TRUE:WHY I BELIEVE GOD WILL SAVE EVERY PERSON. I highly recommend both a for anyone who is troubled by the state of Christianity in the United States.
I just bought, and have read only a few pages of, PINK RIBBONS, INC.: BREAST CANCER AND THE POLITICS OF PHILANTHROPY. It should prove to be very interesting.

I'm in the process of reading Plato's The Republic, which is going to be my seminar's topic for 3 weeks. I also just finished The Algerine Captive, by Royall Tyler, an unexpectedly good and forward-thinking bit of early American literature.
For what may become my senior thesis, I'm reading Public Opinion, by Walter Lippmann, as well as a couple of books on democratic theory by Robert A. Dahl.
*twitch* No, I'm not overloaded with work; why do you ask?
I had to read The Republic for my university dissertation - fascinating book, and it was the only one I studied that didn't drive me round the bend after six months...
I'm currently reading Three men in a boat by Jerome K Jerome - absolutly hilarious! He's a Victorian writer who's actually funny, like a gentler Oscar Wilde.
Plum--Since you were on a Neil Gaiman kick . . . what is the better of the two books by him:
American Gods
or
Neverwhere
