...Just had to share how awesome having a prom at a museum is, especially one in downtown Chicago (and because I'm bored).
Part of the group
My date's nosegay
Field Museum entrance
Main hall
Sue the T-Rex.
Food! Same company that Oprah uses a lot. There were also six chocolate fountains.
Dance floor...with over 1,050 people on it.
parting picture
Then it was off to a post prom cruise on the lake . Anyone else have pictures from their prom?
Could've done that with all the chocolate...why didn't i think of that.
can I assume you don't have a program to lighten and "fix" photos, some of those are really dark.
Oh God. Where do you go to school??
Your prom was on the same night as mine (as per the date on your photos).
Awesome! The Field is so cool.
That's such a cool place for a prom!

The best Prom I ever attended-- A friend & I DJ'ed the Horizons Gay Prom! (Many years ago-- not this past year!)
It was a blast-- any "kids" from Horizons (Gay center in Chicago) could attend, solo or with a date. They elected 4 Kings & Queens: a Female King, a Male King, A Female Queen and (by FAR The most hotly contested race) Female Queen (When the winners name was read, I thought he proved himself the most deserving by screaming out "Damn right!")IT had all the things you expect at Prom, slow dances, pictures, flowers, awesome DJs, dinner....
It was so much fun- so many same sex couples got to dance together for the very first time that night!
Awww, Joe, that's such a fun idea.
And chinkie, your prom looks beyond fab-u-lous!
That sounds like an awesome Prom Joe!
ooo prom pictures :)
i <3 the hartford queer prom.
here's a few of mine from saturday night... there were maybe 100 kids there:

Mine was pretty kick ass. It was in the Dallas World Trade center. Some of the highlights:
1) No one was dancing, so us theatre kids took over...1 slow dance the entire night at the end. OUr final song "The Mickey Mouse Club Farewell"
2) Leading my ENTIRE school in "The Time Warp" AND "Dancing Queen" (on the fountain, nonetheless)
3) The incredibly stuck up Prom Queen trying to bar a mentally challenged student because she looked better in the SAME dress (The mentally challenged girl won out, and the Prom Queen left early crying...that's why it was cool)
4) Two Words. Cheesecake. Bar.
My HS never did the whole king/queen thing, thankfully
which prom would you like to hear about?
The Jr. Prom my sophmore year?
The Jr Prom my junior year?
The Sr Ball my junior year?
The Jr Prom my senior year?
The Sr Ball my senior year?
The Sr Prom at Karlsruhe American HS, when I was in the Army?
(I was dating a Captains daughter)
(I was very popular, albeit misguided about my sexuality)
That is such an amazing location.
Sorry, I like museums.
Haha
But really, very nice
<3
i forgot to mention the best part of my prom...
it was chaperoned by the imperial soveriegn court of all connecticut! we got to dance with them and everything :)

Looks like fun! Am I the only one who's used to calling a "nosegay" a corsage? When I saw the nosegay caption, my mind swung to Seth Rudetsky for some reason...
"Mine was pretty kick ass. It was in the Dallas World Trade center."
My Homecoming was there last year.
I love that you took pictures of the food! I do that all the time.
Your prom was in the Field Museum?? That's pretty cool, not gonna lie. We had ours at the Renaissance in Schamburg(I'm assuming you know where this is, since your prom was in Chicago).
Is the Renaissance the new convention center? lol I live like 2 mins from Schaumburg and don't know where it is.
I don't have any photos from mine, but it looked something like this.
Prom: Spring, TX 1988
I'm sure you can visualize the rest.
