The finale of SFU was perfection for me. I agree, doodle, Lauren Ambrose was sensational and deserved a nod.
Out of Practice was a horrible show! Did they nominate her just because she's the great Stockard Channing? She was good but it wasn't on par with some of the great stuff she's done. A great actress can only do so much with shlock.
I applaud the Lisa Kudrow nom. I wish that show garnered morer viewers. She was just amazing.
NO LOVE FOR BIG LOVE for best drama? Are they high?
No Chloe Sevigny? (what?!)
No Jeanne Tripplehorn?
No Grace Zabriskie?
No Harry Dean Stanton?
I'd go so far as to give Mary Kay Place one, too, for best supporting (even though her screen time is minimal, she's genius in every scene). There were several episodes that deserved writing nods, too.
Glad to see the Piven love. Well-deserved. But the Kevin Dillon snub? Pfffft! His contribution is really underrated.
I'd replace Martin Sheen with Hugh Laurie in a heartbeat.
Jon Cryer? No offense to Duckie, but I'd swap his nom with one for Rainn Wilson.
Meloni? Niiiice. Good to finally see the Stabler get some lovin'.
I stopped watching Grey's after Big Love started, but I'm very excited for Chandra Wilson. Love Dr. Bailey.
I forgot about Six Feet Under being eligble.

Thrilled for Kyra Sedgwick! Love THE CLOSER - Should have gotten a Drama Series nod.
Many pleasant surprises - However was disappointed Marcia Cross and Eric McCormack were overlooked.
was big love even eligible?
My guess about Big Love is that it wasn't eligible for this year. That's the only reasonable explanation I can think of for the lack of acting nods.
I'm still crying in my spilled milk for Kristen Bell. Although Veronica Mars was arguably stronger last season, la Bell was simply sensational with the material she had to work with. Especially in the season finale--she broke my heart, put it back together, and then broke it all over again.
Big Love was eligble as it recieved 3 nominations.
So my picks would be:
The Sopranos
Keifer
Sedgwick
Imperioli
JEAN SMART!!!
Curb
Larry
Lisa
PIVEN!!!
Elizabeth Perkins
Dancing w/ the Stars
Didn't see any of the minis
Mrs. Harris--also pulling for Kingsley, Bening and Leachman as well for acting nods...
I'm so excited that Denis Leary got a nomination. "Rescue Me" is one of those fine, underappreciated dramas that is stuck on a channel that few people know exists. Good for him!!
I'd love to see:
Drama Series
'Grey's Anatomy'
Actor (Drama)
Chris Meloni, 'Law & Order'
Actress (Drama)
Mariska Hargitay, 'Law & Order'
Supporting Actress (Drama)
Chandra Wilson, 'Grey's Anatomy'
Comedy Series
'Curb Your Enthusiasm'
Actor (Comedy)
Larry David, 'Curb Your Enthusiasm'
Actress (Comedy)
Lisa Kudrow, 'The Comeback'
OR
Julia Louis-Dreyfus, 'The New Adventures of Old Christine'
Supporting Actor (Comedy)
Sean Hayes, 'Will & Grace'
Supporting Actress (Comedy)
Elizabeth Perkins, 'Weeds'
Reality - Competition
'Project Runway'
AND big YAY for Kathy Griffin: My Life on the D List being nominated!
^ i'd like to see anything but that.
I'm with you, SweetSiren. I have been turned off every time I try to watch GA. Ellen Pompeo is one big reason for that. I find her acting affected. The other players are fine for me...but the drama is not. Same goes for House.
I do think it is possible that Big Love was not eligible this year.

It had to have been eligible because it received nods for direction and two other categories.
Der...seein' that now.
I'm stunned. No Housewives, Weeds, Big Love, Commander in Chief, Huff or Six Feet Under for Best Drama? I would have put any of those over 24, The Sopranos, The West Wing, and House this season. No acting noms for Housewives or Big Love? Are they insane??? Most of the comedy noms make sense, but the drama noms are the result of clinical insanity or crack addiction. Or both. As it is, the battle for drama supporting actress is going to be a nail-biter. Sandra Oh, Jean Smart and Blythe Danner are all deserving. Personally, I love them all, but I would love to see Jean Smart pull this one out of the hat. She was heartbreaking on 24.
And what's with that crap about the nomination process? they want to cut down on successive nominations for the same shows, yet we still see 24, West Wing, Martin Sheen, Kiefer Sutherland, The Sopranos, etc. Idiots.
My favorites:
24
the Office
Steve Carell
Kiefer Sutherland
Gregory Itzin
Jean Smart
LISA KUDROW...woohooo..she was brilliant in the Comeback
Jaime Pressley
Peter Krause
FRANCES CONROY...soooo deserves to win for Six Feet Under's final season.
All in all, I"m happy, but Jason Lee is missed.
Now I am really ticked off ... Neil Patrick Harris was not nominated for How I Met Your Mother!
Excuse me?!?
VERY glad to see Jaime Pressley up there as well.
Mister Matt - WEEDS was not robbed of a Best Drama nomination but, a Best Comedy one.
I couldn't believe my eyes that there was no "big" nominations for LOST. But I did go to the official Emmy website...and lo and behold HENRY IAN CUSICK got a nomination for Best Guest Actor in a Drama Series!!!
*clinks glass*
That's the only award I care about this year. GO HENRY!
so happy for six feet under getting nods for Krause, Conroy, writing and direction for the finale, as well as art design.
hope Conroy wins.
I really hope the finale of SFU wins an award. It was unforgetable
This is the one that will be cheering for..she was brilliant in this !!!! Helen Mirren as Elizabeth I
It's so sad that Veronica Mars doesn't ever get recognized. Besides Top Model it's the only running show I care to watch on TV anymore. I think it is amazing and ridiculously underrated.
Glad for Lisa, though. I thought The Comeback was a hilarious show, and Lsia Kudrow was soooo good. Much better than anything she ever did on Friends, IMO. I think the episode where she has a mini-breakdown because she thinks they forgot to introduce her at the press junket was brilliant acting on her part.
I hope that Jane Kaczmarek gets it this year. She has given one of the funniest most heart felt performances on TV for the last seven years, and the monologue that she gave on the series finale was, hands down, one of the funniest things that I have ever seen on TV.
