Candy, clothes, or a trip to NYC?
how much is it?
mine is larger enough that i booked 3 days in NYC followed by 3 days in Paris, i am so happy!
Oh, that sounds like so much fun. Mine is going to put wood floor in my kitchen and foyer. How boring!
put it in the bank........
Shoes. That's what I'll be spending mine on. If my mother doesn't make me deposit it in my savings account
Me. What? I'm just trying to be helpful.
IF I get a refund (which I haven't in years) I'll be using it to fix my ipod and make a trip to NYC to visit bwaysinger and a few other folks.
It's about 1,000 bucks this year.
BANK IT!
I usually end up after all is said and done with around $900, but this year, because I had SUCH a good year.......even with all my donations and write-offs all together state and federal I owed around $4,000
but......considering what's sitting in the bank that caused it...I don't mind one bit.
I had an exceptional year, and it'll never happen again.....back to normal for 2006
I would say do something you wouldn't get a chance to do otherwise.
You can always buy clothes, a little at a time...
Candy... ditto...
You see my point.
Mine is going towards a Disneyworld trip this summer.
My tax return is going towards my spring vacation to Ireland.
BANK IT!
(I hate sounding like my father...)
Here I am thinking you're lucky to be getting a refund-I usually owe!
Not to sound like an old fart or anything......
But considering the US had a negative savings rate for the year, putting your refund in the bank is the best option.
"The Commerce Department reported...that the savings rate fell into negative territory at minus 0.5 percent, meaning that Americans not only spent all of their after-tax income last year but had to dip into previous savings or increase borrowing."

Don't know about you guys, but I find this kind of frightening. The consequences associated with Americans lacking savings when they become seniors......very very serious.
Give some of it away (even if it's just a small fraction). Choose an issue and then a non-profit whose mission is associated with that issue and send them a check (or donate on-line, as you can do pretty easily with most of them these days.)
My advice is to choose a small organization where your donation will mean more than if you give it to a large non-profit with extraordinary overhead and a rambling budget.
The Bush Administration has forced many small non-profits to close by cutting off funds that would be made available to organizations in a competitive grant application process. It's sad.
If you really care about a particular issue but don't know where to donate, go to guidestar.org—you can look up every non-profit and choose one that is meaningful to you.
You'll be doing good and it'll make you feel really good, too.
You should buy the new RENT DVD!
BANK IT!
Paying a few extra months of my car insurance and my cell phone bills.
Give 10% to a charity. Then either put it in the bank, pay off debt, put it in the bank, or go to NYC.
