^ I'll have to stick it out with "Bojack." I'm on episode... I don't know... 5? And it's fine. Sometimes I laugh. It's enjoyable enough that I'll put it on while I'm cooking or something, but I never make a point of sitting down and watching it.
I adore Miss Fisher's Murder Mysteries! Perfect when you're in the mood for something light and fluffy, but still entertaining. The cast is marvelous.
I tried MFMM, but I couldn't stick with it. The actors really are perfection, but the stories and writing leave a lot to be desired. It's not bad; I'd just felt I'd seen it all before, like Poirot/Marple-lite.
Oh, and a few of mine, recent and current:
“Black Mirror” (which I devoured in one sitting in one night)
“Comedy Bang! Bang!”
“Call the Midwife”
“North and South”
“The Honorable Woman”
And I’m biding my time for the return of “Louie” and “Bob’s Burgers.”
I also just started watching “The Good Wife” and had no idea how compelling it was. Most primetime network stuff right now is dire sh!t, so I was surprised to find the writing on this show is several cuts above, especially for being a standard procedural.
I loved Bojack Horseman, but I wonder how much of its appeal depends on having watched the Hollywood hangers-on shows it riffs on, particularly "Californication."
I loved Californication even though it was uneven; it was a great combination of ludicrously beautiful women and some of the funniest character actors in Hollywood. Plus, I enjoyed the bildungsroman aspect, figuring out who was an exaggerated caricature of who: was Atticus Fetch Noel Gallagher? was Hank Moody Bret Easton Ellis but straight? was Eddie Nero Brad Pitt?
But Bojack has the feel of these shows, yet more honest examination of the bleakness of these character's lives. Plus it's mixed with some of the extreme absurdist satire that post-MacFarlane animated comedies are obligated to indulge in at least a little... but it doesn't clash somehow. The world of the show is just strange enough that you can get away with things like the extended Andrew Garfield or "kids in a trenchcoat" gags.

I'm three episodes into THE HONORABLE WOMAN, and I'm obsessed. I don't think Maggie Gyllenhaal has ever been better. Great writing, and the plotting is so sharp--always giving you just enough, leaving you wanting more.

Auction Hunters!
I just stumbled upon the show one day on Spike and just really enjoyed it... glad it's on Netflix... I love the chemistry between Allen and Ton and I like how the guys love finding stuff and plus learning about history... so much better to me than Storage Wars (where I think all those guys are annoying)
additionally... I REALLY wish Parking Wars could be on Netflix... I am obsessed with that show!

In other Netflix news.... two original series coming in March that could become a new obsession, once we all finish Season 3 of HOUSE OF CARDS:
Tina Fey's UNBREAKABLE KIMMY SCHMIDT (with Ellie Kemper and Tituss Burgess)
Todd Kessler's BLOODLINE (with Kyle Chandler, Norbert Leo Butz, Sissy Spacek and Steven Pasquale)
Holy f*ck. I cannot wait.
Hmm. That's quite the cast for BLOODLINE. I'll definitely check it out. Given that it's by the guys behind DAMAGES, I hope that it doesn't start strong and quick devolve into utter nonsense.
I'm waiting for Daredevil.
And I'm going to start devouring Justified.
Watched the entire Torchwood series over the 3-day weekend. The first two seasons are fantastic, the third (Children of Earth) was excessively grim (and a certain character's death made me extremely sad), and the 4th (Miracle Day) was just not very good. John Barrowman, Eve Myles, and Gareth David-Lloyd were all really good. Definitely worth watching the first two seasons. Definitely good to watch Doctor Who (the first 2 seasons) before watching it, it's not for everyone, and it's a little tawdry, but I loved it just the same.

The trailer for Tina Fey's UNBREAKABLE KIMMY SCHMIDT with Ellie Kemper, Tituss Burgess and Jane Krakowski, has arrived. All 13 episodes of Season 1 will be available starting March 6 and it has already been picked up for a second season.
Enjoy!

Bit on the retro side here: a good many nights, it's either ROCKFORD FILES on Netflix or DR KILDARE on Warner Archives -- sometimes one episode of each. Yeah, we rock the streaming here. lol
I always come back to Buffy. I just love it to much.
Never was huge on anime, but Sword Art Online (season 1 ONLY) was a great watch.
Not on Netflix but someone has uploaded all of the episodes of Love Boat on to YouTube. Since only seasons one and two were released on DVD this is a happy find. I'm almost done season four. Wonder how far I can get before a bigwig catches on and has them all removed.
I've been re-watching Futurama. What a fantastic comedy series.

Season 2 of The Fall is even better than the first.
Is anyone watching "The Paradise"? A coworker with whom I'm very much on the same page in terms of TV taste recommended it to me.
I know you don't think much of my opinion, but for what it's worth I absolutely loved The Paradise. It's so soapy and ridiculous and I love it. The production is also gorgeous. Updated On: 1/30/15 at 05:09 PM
I have no issues with your opinions, Fantod. I have, from time to time, disliked the way you express yourself. But I plan to check the show out. I'm a sucker for a soapy costume drama, and nobody does it better than the Brits.
I'm rewatching every X-FILES episode, so I can be ready for the Fall.
The Paradise is okay. It's watchable, but far from unmissable. I actually thought the production values were kinda lacking, clearly they were on a budget.
Well, that's it then. I'm not watching it!
