I got a IOU for two tickets to a Broadway play. I was wondering if there was a list for upcoming musicals. Merry Christmas
Lestat! You never know when you'll get another chance.
ibdb.com is your friend, The Drowsy Chaperone is not listed on their 2005-2006 season musicals but I believe it is expected to have a Broadway bow sometimes next year. A Chorus Line is also opening late next year supposedly, for the 2006-2007 season.

I am so excited for A Chorus Line. Interested if they do anything different with it!
yea it should be fun since bayork lee is recreating the choreography
And, of course, Tarzan will be opening! :) Also, I believe "Tale of Two Cities" should be coming this year...correct me if I'm wrong on that.
Is Ring of Fire a Broadway or Off-Broadway show? Someone give me the lowdown on it. I haven't heard too much.
As of right now they are not planning on changing things. I can't wait to watch the HBO documentary that should be on this summer - they have ben filming all of the auditions and will continue to do so either till rehearsals start or opening night - no one knows for sure.
I think they should try to find a new perspective for A Chorus Line instead of copying Bennett's staging, maybe it will work, or maybe not I don't know.
Ring of Fire is a Broadway show that will use Johnny Cash songs to tell his story, sort of Walk The Line meets Jersey Boys I believe.
I'm not sure there would be any reason to do A Chorus Line WITHOUT the Bennett staging. In particular, I would love for the young generation of theatregoers who didn't get the chance to see it an opportunity to see where Bennett was going with the type of fluid, integrated piece that he created with Chorus Line (and Dreamgirls).
It would be great for some young talent to see what Bennett did, get inspired, and pick up where he left off. Just as Bennett was the heir apparent to Jerome Robbins, somewhere, I'd like to believe is the heir apparent to Bennett.
Personally, I would rather see Chicago revamped and done as it was in 1975 so the younger generation can actually get the concept and the genius that was Bob Fosse. Chorus Line ran 15 years for God's sake. We don't need the damned thing again. I mean, yeah Chicago is running, but I only wish it weren't so stripped down.
I'm looking foward to Mary Poppins. I usually would rather see Disney on screen, but this show is great.
playbill.com has a list of Upcoming Broadway and Off-Broadway productions. It really goes pretty far in advance, at least to the end of 2006. If you plan on looking for it, it is on the right hand side towards the mid-bottom of page.

What is the point of recreating the orginal staging of A Chorus Line? Every tour, community theater and high school has been rehasing that staging for the last 10 years. I would like to see a new take on the show. But I'm sure it will run for 10 years so what do I know?
Seriously, who is out there that can do a better job on Chorus Line? For those wanting some great new take, rather than a recreation of Bennett's production, whom do you suggest for the job?

um...what is Ring of Fire about....is it Gonarehia the musical
I'm not saying that anyone could do a better job than Michael Bennett. However, the music and the book might be dated for current audiences, I think it's original appeal was the revolutionary idea of the plot and the movie-like use of theatrical elements, I believe it was like Rent but in a much larger scale. Now, the original staging not only has been done everywhere like iago_sucks said, but it's also being copied by other shows since the late 70s. I'm not saying the Bennett staging isn't flawless, but I am saying that it might not keep the show running.
