i guess I'm just thinking about fall still. I'd love to see 2 or 3 more shows make their way in.
I wonder when Miss Saigon will make an announcement.

Is Bandstand really not coming? Guess they announced too early... What about the wiz? I feel like all the buzz is gone for it.
Updated list. If anyone knows if any of the shows still looking for a home is already announced for a Schubert, Nederlander ect, house, I'd like to add that info.
vacant for the fall/winter
Vivian Beaumont (Oslo in the spring, most likely dark until then)
The Cort
The Nederlander (-> rumored for War Paint in the spring)
Belasco (DEH now at the Music Box)
vacant for the spring '17
Walter Kerr (Falsettos limited though January)
The Lyceum (Oh, Hello limited through January)
theaters POSSIBLY vacant in the spring '17
Al Hirschfeld (Kinky Boots)
Bernard Jacobs (Color Purple)
Longacre (Bronx Tale)
St. James (Something Rotten; Frozen from spring 2018 )
Imperial (Great Comet)
Circle In The Square (In Transit)
Marquis (On Your Feet)
The Palace will close for renovations, all other currently running shows will likely stay open, following current grosses.
Shows looking for theaters in the 16/17 season:
Amelie (Spring '17)
Come From Away (a Schubert theatre tba, from Feb.)
The Bandstand
Photograph 51 (P)
Smokey Joes Cafe
Spongebob (possibly the Marquis after On Your Feet??)
War Paint (Spring '17 -> rumored for the Nederlander)
Half Time (formerly Gotta Dance) (announced for spring '17)
anything missing here?
Spongebob just announced a cast recording, I expect a Broadway premiere will come with it.
What do you guys think will go into the Schoenfeld after the Humans?
Charlie and the Chocolate Factory and Miss Saigon both have auditions coming up, but no start date is listed for either.
I'd imagine Spongebob would fit well into the Lunt. The dark interior would work great for the show.
And could see Charlie going into the Broadway. Such a huge stage.

Charlie is already scheduled for the Lunt Fontanne
Singin' in the Rain announced yesterday that they are not coming this season.
It was a poorly worded press release, so please correct me if I'm wrong, oncemorewithfeeling2, but I believe Singin' solidified that they're not coming this fall. I think there remains a possibility of it opening this spring, no? (Could be totally wrong here!)

Sure. Anything is possible. I could get hit by a bus today. That doesn't mean it's probable.
There's a difference between ruling out a calendar season versus a Broadway season, Headband.
I guess "Something Rotten" is going to close to make room for "Frozen." I LOVE "Something Rotten," but I'm not surprised it lacks the staying power of POTO, Les Miz, or Chicago.
I'm certainly looking forward to seeing "Something Rotten" on tour.

Ya, the St. James will be dark for a good year for their renovations after Something Rotten closes. They're extending the depth of the stage. They're actually going to start work behind the current stage wall (in the alley-way) while Something Rotten is still playing. Once it closes, they'll break the back wall and continue/finish the project. I believe they're adding 10 extra feet of depth to the stage. The Helen Hayes will also get a nice renovation at the same time.
Sucks to have two theatres dark for a whole year. And if the Palace begins their renovations after American In Paris closes (early), that'll be three theatres closed up. Let's hope the Hudson Theatre opens soon.
bandit964, the Hudson will be opening in February 2017 with the revival of BURN THIS.

Wonder where Spogebob will go? Doesn't seem like there are any available spaces big enough. Maybe they're waiting for On Your Feet to close?

I'm thinking the Marquis eventually as well, RippedMan.
I was thinking either the Marquis or maybe even the Lyric if it waits till next season for SpongeBob.
Someone said Cirque has leased the Lyric for the next 10 years

Wow. I hope not- no offense to Paramour but I think that house would be put to use much better with SpongeBob than with some other incoming cirque show...
Totally disagree. Doesn't mean Paramour is going to be there for 10 years, but they can tour other shows to the venue. Makes sense to me! I think Cirque is great! They just need to ditch the idea of making a tradjlnal Broadway show and do what they want.

I've heard that the Nederlanders are trying to book a 16 week limited run into the Palace before they start renovations. They already have a holiday show booked...
BroadywayGuy12, thanks so much! How did I miss that?!
