Who's paying Riedel to push The Prom so much? It's not getting all of those acting nominations.

I found the Tootsie confidence and The Cher Show info. Very interesting too... if it’s true...

It's an opinion so it can't be true or false.
It’s way too bad Pretty Women will most likely be shut out. Samantha Barks is so radiant as Vivian and she deserves to be up there with the others.

I wonder if Pretty Woman would have done better if it had opened at the end of April. Maybe it would have been in the discussion for the fifth slot for Best Musical?

I think it would have done better if it did open in the spring. Same for the Prom.
The fact that Pretty Woman is still open is victory enough for them.

Am I the only one that forgets Pretty Woman is a thing?

With all the Beetlejuice hate, I'm surprised he thinks it'll get a Best Book nomination

Nope. I saw it even, and still forget this one. I never saw the movie before this and only went because my mother insisted and paid. Talent was wonderful but such a forgettable show. It was made for people like my mom, and those people can afford broadway prices so that’s why it’s still running.

He's not predicting it to be nominated. These are his "ideal nominations", meaning what he hopes to get nominated but doesn't necessarily think will.
Ahhhhh gotcha.

Agree. Samantha Barks was flawless. So was Stephanie J. Block. IMOHO, both should be nominated.

I saw it three times and still forget it's a thing.
HOLY CRAP. I can't believe To Kill A Mockingbird didn't get a play nomination!!! That's the snub of the decade.

Wow. Shocked that TKAM was snubbed like that. It was the best play I have seen in years.
Also notable that RNJ was snubbed for Oklahoma.

All of these noms for Beetlejuice, which is easily the worst thing I've seen in 20 years.
What a terrible year.
holy hell, absolutely shocked about Mockingbird!!!

Ugh, was really hoping for Michael Urie
Also SO happy for Jeremy Pope!!! I got chills when they said his name!!

It almost feels like a mistake re TKAM- Sher got a nomination, so did Daniels and Bolger and Glick.
This love for Gary is wild. And wow, Aint Too Proud is cleaning up. Pope nominated twice.

Same and for Mercedes Ruehl as well. :/ I'm thrilled Torch Song got nominated for Best Play revival though!
I was also surprised about Mockingbird not getting Best Play nomination. I thought it would have been between Ferryman and Mocknigbird to win Best Play but obviously not given Mockingbird wasn't even nominated.
So excited for Jeremy Pope!!
TKAM aside, the other biggest shock to me is Glenda Jackson. And no Featured Actors from The Ferryman.
