Last year felt very full and competitive and we already have more productions announced than last year 36-38 and we’re at 18-21 on musical productions. (Assuming Smash is confirmed for the Imperial) Very exciting!
I dont know if Midnight in the Garden or Real Women Have Curves will fit in this year. Also hoping for Dead Outlaw!

Don’t quote me on this, but I believe all three of these are coming in this season.

The vagueness of "2025" for MIDNIGHT's announcement automatically made me think 2025-2026 season, for some reason, not the current season.
But that could also be like the TRANSPARENT musical where a transfer is announced in the press but we all know there's a very slim chance of it actually making it to Broadway and an even slimmer chance of succeeding.
Putting out a press release is an attempt to signal to theatre owners and investors and agents that "this is real and it's happening."
I assume MIDNIGHT at a minimum needs a 2-5 week workshop to both fix the material and try to raise a lot more money.

I wasn’t surprised about the Midnight transfer news since the Chicago run was pretty splashy and hyped up despite reviews. We can be hopeful they will take feedback and keep working on it which others like BOOP will need to do as well. Compared to say The Connecter that had a lot of awards last spring but had no plans for a Broadway run.
Jonathan Groff will play Bobby Darin in the new bio-jukebox musical Just in Time, beginning previews March 28 and opening April 23 at the Circle in the Square Theatre.
Sadie Sink returns to Broadway in the new play John Proctor Is the Villain, beginning previews March 20 before an April 14 opening at the Booth Theatre.

Does this mean SMASH is the last show to announce for the season?
Just over 3 months? How do they make a profit? Are tickets going to be $500?

Makes a lot of sense to announce on Marc Shaiman's birthday — and I'm SO glad Coppola and Nielsen are continuing!

Pretty much every star-driven play is a limited run and budgeted to recoup in 12-18 weeks.
They may also have her another month but not announced yet.

Oh so Caroline Bowman will be leaving Sunset then? I would've loved to see her on as Norma so I guess we'll see if it ends up happening

There will be others that will come in if some fall shows (Tammy Faye? Swept Away? Maybe Happy Ending?) fail
No chance this is the final announcement of the season. There will always be surprises or shows in flux.
Even if fall shows try to last through Tony time, that doesn't always work out.
The past 3 seasons we've had last-second, final-show-of-the-season announcements from Seaview (Illinoise, Sidney Brustein, POTUS).
There's available theaters still in the Spring, correct?
