So much for the possibility of MAMMA MIA extending.

I guess being a quarterfinalist on AGT doesn't get you far on Broadway.
Telecharge today sent an email about getting to know "The Heart" from La Jolla ... ... ....

There's a test event on Telecharge for a Broadway concert at Lincoln Center. I'm guessing for a Monday night when Ragtime is dark?

Looks like Prince is joining Dolly Parton on the not this season list. So what takes the Majestic?

I'd like to see your lie on april on stage. I don't watch anime or read manga, but that show f*cked me up to the extreme.
Attention must be paid: Nathan Lane and Laurie Metcalf will return to Broadway in a revival of Death of a Salesman, beginning previews March 6 and opening April 9 at the Winter Garden Theatre. It will run through June 14.
Next season has a lot of possible new musicals: Benjamin Button, Paddington, Wanted, Bull Durham, Hercules, Dolly, Purple Rain, Let The Good Times Roll, The Devil Wears Prada, Soul Train, Sinatra.

I believe Death Note is heading back to the West End next summer. Loved his Your Lie In April. Great cast album.

Lots of angry chatter among producers and investors about the new musicals being programmed. Either 30 million budgets with high running costs or limited runs that make no sense financially. The community that finances the shows and takes all the risks are being asked to do financial models that make no sense. Not to mention the lack of jobs for the musical community this season. Where are the smartly budgeted and developed shows and why are they not getting theaters this year? Think Oustiders, Happy Endings, Buena Vista...that model is missing this year. 2 strangers is closest but not really something that employs the musical community in big numbers.
I think this is also causing casual investors- folks who may invest in one or two shows a season- to turn away. I was talking to an acquaintance who is one such person and they are sitting out this season entirely.
David Lindsay-Abaire‘s The Balusters officially opens on April 21 at the Samuel J. Friedman Theatre.

It’s also interesting to think about, pre pandemic, the shows listed here would have recouped their investments by now. Think The Bands Visit and Hadestown both of which recouped after 11 and 8 months, respectively.
Little Bear Ridge Road will now close on December 21.
