Last season’s offering for Los Angeles Center Theatre Group was appalling with no new Broadway show, they need to pull their socks up for next season.

Oh Mary! Was already anounce for The Smith Center for October 6-11, but I guess they considered it too risqué to include in the regular Broadway season package.

Las Vegas is a bunch of pansies, they need to force the regular season holders and the general public to see this. It would be so funny to see their reactions.
Toronto's 26/27 Season:
Hell's Kitchen
The Karate Kid: The Musical
Operation Mincemeat
13 Going on 30: The Musical
The Mousetrap
Inside the Wreck of the Edmund Fitzgerald
Salesman in China
Additions:
Paranormal Activity, Dirty Dancing, Water for Elephants Great Gatsby, Mamma Mia, etc.
The run of Dirty Dancing in Toronto is being billed as the Canadian Premiere. Didn’t the show premiere there in 2007?

It's apparently a completely new version.

Well if you want you can watch the livestream from last night on the Smith Center website. They brought Seth Rudetsky out to Las Vegas & he tried to hype it, but the main guy is quite cautious saying stuff "this won't be for everyone." They know their audience. When I went to Suffs there last Fall it was a lot of retirees who've moved to LV for the weather. Season subscribers do get first dibs on seats to OM though. I signed up for early access (after subscribers), but right now I'm still not sure if I want to do Vegas in October or November this year.

Houston's Theatre Under the Stars 26/27 Season announced today. Shows:
THE MUSIC MAN (tour)
MRS. DOUBTFIRE (tour)
THE LITTLE MERMAID (locally produced)
THE WHO'S TOMMY (tour)
KINKY BOOTS (tour)
OH, MARY! (tour)
Usually TUTS brings two to three tours and does the rest locally. Unless I'm mis-reading their website and announcement, only one show is being produced locally.

Are some of those local productions? I haven't seen many of those as a tour ... Karate Kid, Salesman in China. Paranormal Activity. etc.

Karate Kid is apparently the UK Tour coming over here. 13 Going on 30 is billed as the pre-West End run. Salesman in China is a local production, a transfer from its run at Stratford Festival a few years ago. Inside the Wreck of the Edmund Fitzgerald is similar, it's a docu-concert coming over from PEI.
I assume Paranormal Activity will be the tour.

Before today’s official press release the website was still using press photos of the broadway cast. Today those photos no longer appear which is confirmation, to me, that the tour will be non-equity.
Someone on Reddit commented that they got audition materials for the show stating it’ll be non-eq, too.

100% will be non eq. Probably just that big video screen and that's it.

it's incredibly difficult for the Ahmanson to book the big Broadway tours anymore with the Nederlander run Pantages in Hollywood being a larger theatre with a full slate of big touring musicals on their season schedule, tour producers can rake in a lot more $$$ at the Pantages with its 2700+ seats compared to the 2,084 seats at the Ahmanson

I do appreciate that, but there are always smaller shows, which would get lost in the Pantanges, that would sit in the Ahmanson better. For example Sunset Boulevard with Nicole Scherzinger, Oh Mary, The Outsiders, Suffs, Buena Vista Social Club, Six, Operation Mincemeat, Titanique and Maybe Happy Ending. Maybe Totoro or The Devil Wears Prada from the London. Shows can run longer at the Ahmanson to compensate, what actor wouldn’t like to live in LA for a month? The utilisation of the Ahmanson this season has been dreadful.
All those shows play thestres similar in size to the Pantages in other markets, so why should they go smaller in LA. Yes maybe for the audience it would be a better experience, but tours are about making as much money as possible - not about the audience experience.

I agree with you in terms of audience experience (the Pantages is a huge barn of a theatre), but it's all about making as much money as you can and the Ahmanson just can't compete. Of the shows you mentioned, SUFFS just played the Pantages a few months ago and SIX opens at the Pantages tonight for its 2nd visit. I wouldn't be surprised if the Ahmanson might snag Oh Mary or Operation Mincemeat, but we'll wait and see what happens when they finally announce their 26/27 season.

Anyone know if Suffs or Spamalot will continue to tour next season? I haven’t seen either on any recent announcements.

Okay I know what you are saying and you know what I am saying too, Los Angeles is the second biggest city in the country but only has only has theatres, where San Francisco and Chicago have 3. There are shows that work better in the Pantanges like Hamilton, Great Gatsby, Hell’s Kitchen, Moulin Rouge, The Lion King, Aladdin, Death Becomes Her or MJ. I am not saying you are wrong, but there are right shows for the Pantanges and right shows for the Ahmanson, think we are both agreed on that. Then I agree with the point you are making with producers wanting a quick buck over substance.
I wouldn’t enjoy Six in the Pantanges, nor Suffs.
