Oh I do love Kidman but she doesn't have the vocal chops for that role, sadly.

Someone who can act would be preferrable.

Or atleast move their face.

Beyonce, Christina (Aguilera), and Nick Lachey was the studio's "dream cast" according to some random internet leak about two years ago.

Obviously, nothing has developed on that front...

Brittany Murphy as Amneris
Anika Noni Rose as Aida, preferably
No idea for Radames

there's absolutely no way Alicia Keyes has the substantial range to do Aida.

There is a vocalist who I Love named Kristine W....and I'd love to hear her as Amneris...She was a former Miss Nevada, but don't know if she could act it.

Mmmmmm Hugh Jackman.

I think visually Nicole Kidman would work extremely well as Amneris, but definitely not vocally.

i think it would be tough to combine ai and da into a coherent story even without the music. especially with that hideous last quarter of ai.

Pleas tell me you are joking.

Anywho, I don't think Beyonce is right for Aida and she does not have the acting chops. I would love to see Katherine McPhee play Amneris but I don't know if she can act, all I know is that she could sing the **** out of that score

I am SOOO glad someone finally started a thread about this! There were only at least 5-6 already, so I'm glad someone finally tackled it. the danger of capital letters

NOT BEYONCE!!! ughhh!! and honestly...not Christina either...such poor choices! females are so hard to cast...

but honestly they would be so stupid NOT to cast Adam Pascal as Ramades! seriously...he is phenomenal! and he obviously has film abilities since he did rent as a film!

i can't wait for this to come out!!!

I can just imagine Christina as Amneris.

"Dress has always(growled) been my StRRONnngESeesTtTt(riff like no other) SUiiITtT.

yaa, she got talent, and I like her, but ya she would riff and go into her 'diva' signature voice.

she wouldn't be a bad choice, but I don't think that she has the right voice....plus can she act

I don't no about Aida, no Beyonce, but I don't no who...

Of course Christina would riff. It's sort of expected that Amneris riff in that song (and the end of Every Story). Every actress who played the roll on Broadway riffed in those numbers, so obviously the creative team likes it and even expects it.

I can't imagine why anyone would want a movie version of this truly bad musical. The Elton john score alone makes the show painful.

The only good thing about filming this now is that Adam Pascal is too old to duplicate his wooden performance. Listening to him sing that score made my ears bleed.

^ Elton John's Score for Aida was one of the best scores of the 2000's.
