Even Jimmy Fallon Gets the Jitters When Making His Broadway Debut

Well, at least many are getting their Broadway debut credit thanks to this. Otherwise, it’s very unlikely it would happen in a traditional play or musical. Kudos to the old mantra of “it’s who you know.”
Annaleigh Ashford, David Cross, and Tim Meadows take to the armchairs tonight... anyone here going?

Right. Because if Jimmy Fallon, or John Mulaney (who has a Broadway credit), or Aidy Bryant were itching to do an extended Broadway run in something --- no one else would have given them a chance? Not quite sure who you are referring to --- most everyone who has done or will be doing the show already has Broadway credits.

I honestly had no idea Jimmy Fallon was this popular.
Jimmy Fallon ‘All In’ Broadway Week Sets $2M House Record For A Play – Broadway Box Office
"Fallon’s brief stint in the production – his one-week performance ended February 2 – saw the weekly grosses jump by a huge 46% over the previous week, landing at $2,080,707, easily topping the Hudson’s previous house record for a play of $1,708,653 set by the 2022 Sarah Jessica Parker-Matthew Broderick production Plaza Suite."
"The late-night talk host’s appearance also seems to have driven up ticket prices for the show: The average ticket price was $268.69, twice the price of nearly every other show on Broadway, including big musicals like Gypsy starring Audra McDonald and Disney’s The Lion King, though the latter was surely impacted by Broadway’s two-for-one Broadway Week promotion, which draws families."

He hosts the Tonight Show. He’s hosted a game show. He’s written multiple children’s books. He is a regular panelist on Password. He had a haunted house called Jimmy Fallon’s Nightmares in Rockefeller Center last year. He’s popular.

I saw it tonight for the first time. LMM did the opening bit. David and Tim were the pirates. LMM and Annaleigh did the noir baby bit. David was the devil to LMM's agent.
Overall it was charming enough. But I had a deeply discounted ticket, and I don't know how I would have felt if I'd spent real money to see it.
I would've paid $268.69 to see early aughts Jimmy Fallon on stage. I'll settle for memories of that CD signing at FYE I went to in 2002 instead.

anyone know if Tim Meadows or David Cross have done the stagedoor at all this week?
you’ve got to be kidding
One of the worst things I’ve ever sat through on Broadway and I’ve seen Prymate and Moose Murders, and Bobby Boland!
One final guest for the run: Hank Azaria hops on starting tonight for the final week (replacing Cross).
Who's seeing him?

I have to assume this show will announce a recoupment this week as it will have grossed about $15 million by the end of its run
Hank was very funny! I hadn't seen any other casts so I can't offer thoughts there, but I loved what he did with it. I didn't realize my ticket was for his debut!
Annaleigh Ashford is incredible in this! Obviously biased (my profile pic lol) but that final monologue was so special, I loved it so much.
Was that performed by the other women in the cast (Renée, Aidy, Chloe)? I know some things have been switched around for the men, would love to know who delivered the final monologue in the other casts if anyone knows!

See. You didn't stop Greg Nobile and now he's back to print more money. And good luck getting refunds this time...

Article on here says it did recoup. So it’s the third show of the season
Oh Mary
Romeo + Juliet
All In
And two of those were produced by Nobile/Seaview. And he’s got L5Y and Good Night and Good Luck coming up, both seemingly destined for similar financial success.

Which, as always, brings this ridiculous kerfluffle to mind.
That was such a weird little huff from Nobile, both baldly hypocritical and misdirected.

All Out! Instead of not memorize the lines, next time we won't even say the lines.
