Another question (you guys are probably getting annoyed by now but I'm one of those people who has to have everything perfect sadly...) Do you think they could fit a headshot in a 6in. x 9in. envelope? Also when you send a SASE can you stick it in an envelope of the same size or does it have to be bigger?(this question is probably the stupidest, sorry)
EDIT: WAIT! I just realized you can fold envelopes, so nevermind (unless you can't fold envelopes?)

it depends, if u want the person 2 sign your own photo. then u'll need 2 enclose the photo in an A4 envelope. But if you want them to send you 1, then you can send a small envelope

Mikey, the photos they send are usually 8x10...so you wouldnt use a small envelope unless you want it bent.
You want a nice big envelope with cardboard backing so the photo will not get hurt.
Um... you can't fit the picture in a smaller envelope. Yes, you can fold envelopes, if you want to put the big one IN a small one.
9 x 11.5 photo mailers works really well.... probably run you a buck or two and change, well worth it.

Mikey I know that you are five, but if you are going to post on here, please...PLEASE write out your words...it helps the older people on here, and its just annoying. I am not trying to be mean, just please.

I don't have many. I don't care too much about most stars or actors but there are some I get just for fun. It's a fun collection, the thrill of the chase to get the autographs...here's what I have collected over the last few years.
- Norbert Leo Butz, Gregory Jbara & John Lithgow (DRS)
- Susan Egan, Tony Roberts, Rick Holmes (Cabaret)
- Michelle Williams & the cast of Aida.
- Rosie O'Donnell & Harvey Firestein (Fiddler)
- Idina Menzel and Kristin Chenoweth (Wicked)
- Rosie Perez and Joe Pantoliano (Frankie and Johnny)
- Sara Ramirez, Alan Tudyk, David Hyde Pierce & others (Spamalot)
- Anthony Rapp, Tari Kelley & others (Little Shop Tour)
- Roger Bart & Brad Oscar (Producers)
- Harvey Fierstein, Kathy Briar, Marc Shaiman & others (Hairspray)
- Anne Heche (Proof)
Hopefully I'll add Julia Roberts, the the boys to that!
"question - i'd love to get some signed headshots from some of my favorite performers...how do you go about doing that? just write them a letter asking for it? seems slightly...i don't know"
Just e-mail them or write them, and be nice about it. tell that how much you like the show, that they are doing a great. stuff like that. most people will send you one.

Can you really e-mail them and get a signed headshot in the mail?

Manoel Felciano
Raul Esparza
Jaclyn Neidenthal
Michael Cerveris
Michael Ball
Joanna Gleason
Victoria Clark
Andrew Asnes
John Stamos (!!)
Who is Andrew Asnes? This is the second time I've seen his name today.
I have a headshot from Mano. He's such a wiseass. :) It's hysterical.
"Can you really e-mail them and get a signed headshot in the mail?"
I got one from John Lloyd Young when I ask him through e-mail.
I ask if the jersey boys had a pic they could sign and send me, he said he didn't think so. but said that he had put a head shot of him in the mail of me.
Who is Andrew Asnes?
He was an ensemble member in DRS, and on the Greg cam all the time being fabulous. He's also a producer of The Color Purple.
I just have...
Josh Gad on my spelling bee playbill (except I smudged it so now its just J "big thumb print" AD)
Sandra Joseph on my Jan 9th playbill (except it's in pen not nice pretty sharpie, and she was in a rush, so it really looks like I signed it.)
the entire cast of Barefoot in the Park on my playbill.
and Patrick Wilson's directly on my poto DVD.
They're all just names, not any special to Liz Best wishes stuff. Oh well. I might scan pictures later.
- Signed Mamma Mia! Playbill [full cast] and note from Carolee Carmello
- Signed headshot and production photo and two-page letter and signed shirt [red, "Can you use that in a sentence?", signed "Liz - spell well, <3 Sarah Saltz"] from Sarah Saltzberg, AKA one of the most excitable theatre stars currently on Broadway.
- Lestat Playbill personalized by Carolee and signed by Allison Fischer, Roderick Hill and Nikki Renee Daniels.
- Headshot and lengthy letter from Lauren Molina, outlining the reasons why I should not give up the cello and continue learning new languages.
I don't have a lot - I find it hard to write to actors who haven't really inspired me.
I've never understood the appeal of autographs. Seriously, you guys who fervently (I apologize if I made up that word, I don't feel like finding a dictionary) collect them....explain?
For me it makes the evening more sentimental. I don't mail people for a signed headshot, I just like the memory behind or meeting the person.

I don't really care about autographs either. I have 2 signed headshots - one from Idina when I was a bigger fan of Wicked. The other one from Manoel Felciano - which has a personal note that just makes me smile and laugh.

fantabulous, did you write Idina when she was in WICKED (my sis wrote her in SEE WHAT I WANNA SEE and she never got back)?
also, can anyone just email john lloyd young and ask for a headshot (do you just give him your address)?
and one more question: how many stamps do you need if you're writing someone in the West End?
sorry, all these questions are for my sis who is a big autograph person like myself- she gets the guys mostly (with the exception of idina, kristin and others), i get the girls (mostly the hot ensemble ones :) )

I have a handful of signed Playbills from stagedoors. I generally don't stagedoor just to get autographs from everybody and their mother, but rather to meet a specific person.
Also I have a weird (and kind of ridiculous) fear of writing to actors, so I have no signed headshots or letters.
I wrote to Megan Hilty. I apparently didn't send a big enough envelope, because she sent another one.
Yes, when she was in Wicked.

I wanna send Eden my Brooklyn booklet but I'm afraid I won't get it back...
Anyone ever written to her?
Updated On: 4/16/06 at 09:51 PM
I wrote to her over a year ago, and didn't get anything back.
