Umm... Tom "High Fidelity" Kitt and Andrew "John and Jen" Lippa are already safe and Stephen "Ragtime, Man of No Importance, Once on This Island, etc" Flaherty has ONE vote?!
Umm.... I'm speechless.

So composers who did one show count?
Whatever...I'd suggest you eliminate the "this generation" factor, except then Sondheim would easily take it...

that's exactly why I made it *this generation*, or else it would've been the "Who will come in second next to the obvious winner" competition.
And since Guettel has only had one Broadway show and many consider him the future of serious musical theatre I had to limit it to one production.
There are more composers out there people, keep voting

"They say that just being relaxed is the most important thing [in acting]. I take that to another level, I think kinda like yawning and...like being partially asleep onstage is also good, but whatever." - Sherie Rene Scott

Okay, I've decided to extend the age limit back a decade, so anyone born after 1950 can be submitted. After looking up how many people would be shut out by this rule and how many composers already on the list, or could be, that were born in the year 1960 I decided this would be a beneficial move and just makes it all the more competitive. That still blocks Sondheim, Webber and Henry Krieger so this wont be a complete massacre, but a few of the composers now eligible include:
Frank Wildhorn
Scott Bucchino
William Finn
and, of course, Marc Shaiman

My addition may seem a little weird, he composed a flop (was it considered a flop in his eyes?) after all. But I think the music is fantastic and would love to see what he could do next.
Also I added a vote to Lin who also isn't a very well known composer and has only composed one show but he is also great. The ITH music is probably it's strongest point and the translations he did for WSS are fantastic.

Gave my votes to the two new comers, Lin and Jeff. I really hope both of them return to Broadway with shows as amazing as their first. Plus, added Mark Hollman for the awesome Urinetown score. Also, Duncan Sheik 'cause damn, I like Spring Awakening.
