Jay-Z, I appreciated the transcript (I did a quick search on youtube with no success, though I know the actor who played the judge--loved him as Leo, Karen's boyfriend on Once and Again for half a season or so.) Pretty heavy handed but the message seems at least better than Sex and the City's--as Kad said they basically conclude with the thought that bisexual, while "ok," is simply a stage of life that those crazy younger people now seem to pass through.

And umm, yeah, talk about random. I have no idea where nsguy's comment came from. Sure it's sad if a guy is so closeted that he sleeps with women but can *only* do so when fantasizing about guys. Which would make him not bisexual.

"I think everyone put in a worthy effort, but should we call it a day and end feeding time for the troll?"

To the contrary, I've found this conversation pretty interesting. It says a lot about sexual identify and each of our viewpoints related to such. I will say I found this post a lot more interesting than Mentius' interview.

I thought he did a beautiful way of explaining his bisexuality. Everyone's stories are different.

I don't care really what ya'll think. I'm bisexual and wouldn't label myself so if I wasn't really bisexual. I've held equal sexual attraction for both male and females. You can bicker amongst yourself for days but unless you're actually bisexual, who are you to claim it isn't so?

And whoever used the "the 'bisexual' guys I sleep with have wives" is stupid. That's like saying there's no such thing as lesbians because some college sorority girls pretend to be gay for the fun of it. People will misuse the term to hide their true sexuality or for various other reasons. But that doesn't make it any less valid and shouldn't be used as an example since it's ultimately a lie.

If you don't want me telling you how your sexuality isn't valid, don't tell me mine isn't either! Easy concept!

dramamama, i don't know who nsguy is, and that doesn't even make sense because that account was made over a year before i came on here so that is definately not my "friend"

I am a bisexual student and I've found this thread to be extremely relevant. Today I was hanging out with a good friend of mine and another friend of hers joined us. He is gay and when I mentioned that I am bi he flat out denied that it was possible. Just like Philly has been saying he told me that I was still in the closet, lying to myself, and he would not believe for a minute that I wasn't gay. I've found a lot of prejudice like that since I've come out, people don't think I am who I say I am and that really hurts! Even when I first came out my mother didn't believe I was bisexual, she insisted that I was either gay or straight, luckily since then she has opened her mind and seen that it is possible to be attracted to more than one gender. I have slept with both men and women and on such occasions I have never EVER thought about someone of different sex than my partners, or anyone else of either sex for that matter. When I look at a person I don't care what gender they are, I care that they're a person who I can connect with. I don't know if I'll end up one day with a man or a woman, but I do know that I am attracted to both and anyone who tells me that I can't be attracted to who I'm attracted to, or that I have to swing one way or another, is a bigot and there is absolutely no other way to put it.

I am still stunned that this discussion is happening/necessary, and that some of the ridiculousness is coming from the gay side of things. Pretty tragic state of affairs... this is like an Onion article come to life without irony.

Here is the reality no one talks about. For decades now, young gay men have "come out" as bisexual first. Many see it as a way to test the water and they think it's an easier pill for their family and friends to swallow. I did it. Dozens of my gay friends did it, and it remains part of the coming out journey for some. Combined with the lack of openly bisexual men, an environment is created like in this thread where some gay men hear the term bisexual and think "Yeah I was too."

^^^ Not sure why you are agreeing with someone who is saying bisexuality exists, but giving the reasons why people may incorrectly think it doesn't.

Both Kad and hater beat me to it, but, yeah... That post doesn't support your "opinion" in the slightest. FYI.

i know what you meant I'm just agreeing with what you said about how bi people who end up turning gay. I won't get rid of any mentality lmao
