Hi everyone after his success on Merrily is there a show that you think Radcliffe would work well in
Not sure why, but the first that came to mind was The Pillowman. Maybe it’s cause he plays exhausted incredibly well, but I think he’s got the charisma and intensity to be quite great as Katurian. I also think he’s willing enough to play second fiddle that a great performance as Michal could be on the cards, and I could even see him make for a fine Tupolski when he’s older.

I’m only going off of limited information/the original cast album, so I’m not sure about the quality of the show itself - but I’ve always wanted to see a production of Stop the World - I Want to Get Off (perhaps as a future Encores! production). I feel like Radcliffe could handle the score and, no doubt, that show would need a name to really sell it.
Other than that, if I remember correctly, he’s expressed interest in working on a new musical. I wouldn’t be surprised if that was the next stage project he’d want to tackle post Merrily/Tony Award.
Funny, a couple months ago I told someone I hoped Martin McDonagh would write a new play for Radcliffe. I’d love that.

I’ve honestly been thinking about him in The Pillowman since before he did Cripple of Inishmaan. McDonagh always struck me as exactly the kind of thing Radcliffe would enjoy.
Tracy Letts was a perfect Tupolski at Steppenwolf many years ago (with a pre-fame Michael Shannon as Michal). I imagine Radcliffe and Letts headling a Broadway revival for a limited engagement - maybe during Halloween season - could do pretty well.
To be honest, I forgot about Cripple of Inishmaan when I brought up Pillowman. Now that I’m reminded of Radcliffe’s prior McDonagh work, I’ll double down on wanting more.
edit: and without having seen a thing of his performance, I feel confident assuming Letts was indeed perfect in that role
I’d like to see him in an ensemble farce like LEND ME A TENOR or a two hander like VENUS IN FUR.
If a musical, he’s most definitely a Leo Bloom for THE PRODUCERS, although I would love a production with Richard Kind and John Mulaney.

Is Merrily his best stage work? If not what would you say?
I would love a revival of Anyone Can Whistle with Radcliffe as Hapgood, Jinkx Monsoon as Cora, and someone like Joy Woods or Jasmine Amy Rogers as Fay.

He's a little too old for it now, but for some reason, I've always thought he'd make a perfect Bat Boy.

and he's a little too short to play basketball, otherwise I'd love to see him play Chuck Baxter.
We've had enough of Into the Woods on Broadway for a while, but I think he would be perfection as the Baker.

I’m still waiting on the Encores! production to transfer 😆😬

I've seen him in three shows. I think his best work was Equus, followed by How To Succeed, with Merrily being third (of the three).
