And I love that (hopefully) each new season will be in a new “genre” of musical. Maybe season 3 could take place in the east village in the 90s. Schmrent."
Yes! Can Schmamilton and Schmear Even Hansen be far behind?
Christopher Willis was Emmy-nominated for his score to ''Schmigadoon!,'' and though he didn't win, he shares insights about the show in a new video. For instance, ''Schmigadoon!'' was made during the COVID era, so he and creator/songwriter Cinco Paul held many meetings on Zoom.
In fact, the two never met in person until last night: at the Creative Emmys!
(Also, the filming of Season 2 of ''Schmigadoon!'' has recently wrapped!)
I review TV for a press outlet, and on the Apple TV+ press site, on the landing page for Schmigadoon!, there is now a dropdown for Season 2/Schmicago. That means our episodes will be filtering in soon. Excited to see how this season changes things up!
I’ve watched the first ep of Season 2 (all are available to me right now but it’s late and I need sleep) and so far this looks to be an incredibly enjoyable season. Totally different tone, as intended, with the principal cast returning in these fun new roles mirroring the “dark” musicals from the ‘60s and ‘70s.
Already the music is impressive, there’s a hysterical riff on a famous Cy Coleman song from a Fosse show that should win an Emmy.
Apple just dropped a trailer for the upcoming season of Ted Lasso. I hope that we get some footage, a trailer, or additional photos soon for season two of Schmigadoon!
Having blazed through this entire second season, I can safely say this blows Season 1 right out of the water. Flat-out riotous numbers perfectly spoofing this new era while remaining musically interesting and writing that felt like it had a bigger picture mentality in mind. I can see this season getting more awards buzz.

Krakowski steals the entire show…"
You're so lucky to have been able to see the episodes! Glad to hear Krakowski may be more featured than last season!

Also think I saw Annie!
So I guess a hypothetical Season 3 would be the British invasion / mega-musicals era. And then Season 4 would be.....I don't know. It's harder to define the era of musicals that follows that. All I can think of is Rent.
