Hey Guys!! So sorry to be late to the party. First of all, BLUEWIZARD honey, HAPPY BIRTHDAY!!! Hope you have a wonderful, wonderful day!! :)
Starlyricist, do you see what happens when you're not around? Do you see the trouble I get into? LOL! Anyhoo, had a little too much to drink last night and paid the price. Blech. :P
Concert last night was FABULOUS!! Finally got to meet the cast and YES, John Hill is just so amazingly amazing. As is Michael! Got a few pics with them. They're so sweet especially Natalie, my new girl crush. :)
The set list was a bit different this time around. Lindsay sang "Forgiven" by Alanis Morrissette. Kaitlin sang a different song and Jim had a solo which was hysterical. All I remember is that he actually sang "beyotch" and "Bezotch" It was great!
Natalie sang another kick ass version of "Walk Away" by Christina Aguilera as well as a beautiful rendition of "I Can't Make you Love Me" by Bonnie Raitt. Aaron sang a song from Radiant Baby but I don't know the name of it. I can find out from Trisky later. Other than that I think it was all the same.
The cast was so friendly and warm at the after party. Had a blast!
And speaking of having a blast, Trisky and I went to "It's Only Life" today and I swear to God, Michael Arden is the MOST talented human being on the face of the planet. He sang many songs today, each one with passion and emotion and...guh. I am totally in awe.
And I know I'm preaching to the choir but he could not be more beautiful, talented, sweet or humble. He is just...I honestly have no words. Bare is so lucky to have him. He's going to be a HUGE star.
Sorry to fangirl all over this post but between meeting John and Michael this weekend, my cup runneth over!

It was called "Sensitive Song" and was written by Larry O'Keefe, co-author of BAT BOY THE MUSICAL, where Jim and Kaitlin met.

*DIES!* I'm oh so jealous, Michael is so amazing...curse my young age and lack of transportation as a result of that!!! Michael is indescribable, broadway is lucky to have him in there, and we're lucky to have him as an inspiration. Glad you had a good time MadeofGold.

Thanks MadeOfGold!
I'm glad the concert was amazing. I'm living vicariously through all of you, so - who's going to the third one?

Okay, so I don't really have a lot of new things to add to this, except to say to MadeofGold...tsk tsk. See what happens when I don't come to events? You develop girl-crushes...AHHHH.
But more importantly, having to do with All Things Arden, tell us more about "It's Only Life". I haven't heard a lot about it and I'm totally living vicariously through you and Trisky! I'm sure adoring Ardenites would like to know.

Yeah I'd like to hear about "It's Only Life." I think I read an article but don't remember anything from it lol.
Yeah I'm too tired to think of anything else to post, I need some sleep...

AG. You sleep? Since when? I didn't think BWWers did that.

Firstly starlyricist, I hope all is well and the trip to the hospital was for something minor!
About "It's Only Life", from a Michael fan P.O.V., I just fall more and more in awe of his voice/ability every single time I see him. His songs seemed especially difficult to sing, IMO. The phrasing/arrangement was very quick in a lot of them, but he sounded effortless (if I didn't adore him so much, I might hate him for being able to do that so easily). I accidentally sort of overheard Joel Grey (who was in attendance) telling him how much he loved him after the show and how free he was on stage. The fan in me applauded wildly on the inside. Billy Porter was also fantastic.
John Buchinno's music is hit or miss for me. My bias is probably with Michael, but I liked his songs the most in terms of lyrics/melody and also Billy Porter's songs because he gave them such great character. There were some songs that seemed overly ready for the shrink's couch in terms of lyrics, but I'd say 75% of the music was good.
As for the show at Joe's Pub, here's the setlist:
1) Poor Child - Aaron, Jenna, Kearran, Michael.
2) Origin of Love - John, Natalie
3) Walk Away - Natalie
4) Still Waiting - Jenna (Michael's song from Easter Rising)
5) Free (I think that's the name?) - Aaron
6) Wonderland - Kaitlyn, Jim
7) Cold Rain in New York - Kaitlyn, Jim
Slut Chorus Boy - Scott
9) Forgiven - Lindsay
10) The N&R Song - Michael, John
11) Brother, Can You Spare a Dime - Kaitlyn
12) Sensitive Song - Jim
13) I Can't Make You Love Me - Natalie
14) Dave Madden (don't know the title of his song)
15) A song from Radiant Baby (don't know the title) - Aaron
16) When Your Man Switches Teams - Jenna
17) Better Than I - Michael

I was thinking the same thing. Sounds Classical. Now we have to build a temple and sacrifice a virgin.
I accidentally sort of overheard Joel Grey (who was in attendance) telling him how much he loved him after the show and how free he was on stage.
I'm really happy to hear Michael is receiving so much attention from the big shots. I'm sure he's sticking with BARE because the show is so promising, but it's also obvious that Michael is going places and meeting some pretty important people. With so much praise coming from high-profile names, it's only a matter of time before he makes a legendary mark on Broadway.
About Billy Porter: I saw him in Miss Saigon as John, and met him backstage. Very, very friendly guy. He's also been receiving a lot of attention lately; I see his name everywhere now. What's he up to? I haven't been keeping track.
About the concert: I'm wondering why they didn't get Michael to perform "Hallelujah", considering it was the most popular request on BWW and probably the Barees site (aside from "Origin of Love").

Probably was, but it'll never see the light of day.
I'm surprised the BWW pictures aren't up yet. Maybe because it's the long weekend.

hey guys, im sorry but i wasnt about to read all of these posts, so i may be sharing useless info, but...
the other day i was standing in line outside of the Caroline or Change theater and a guy about my age and i started talking and he mentioned that he was auditioning for the role of... hmmm... maybe john, im not sure, im not very familiar with the show. he did mention that the character was sort of "geeky" though, if that helps anyone out. so apparently they may be recasting that role if anyone cares.

The only lead role that fits that description is Peter, but we all know Michael Arden is coming back for that. I think there's an opening for "Alan," an ensemble character - I don't know what the description is for Alan.
Or, they could be looking for some understudies. broadwayguy2, any ideas?

Thought on the BWW pictures thing....maybe they're waiting til after tonight's show and plan on doing one big spread type of deal?
Also came up with another question regarding the theater. Is row A on Telecharge actually the 5th row if 4 rows are being saved for Rush? And is that an accurate seating chart? Or is it messed up somehow.....row A looks funky. Thanks!

Agreed, row A looked all weird, the whole concept of the theater confused me. I can't wait for pictures from the concert, they'll be great.

Does anyone know the setup of the theater? The first few rows look weird...etc.

LOL It's all good. I'm told that a lot. I went on a trip when I was 16, and met some friends of a friend. They asked me what school I went to, and I said Lansingburgh. They're like, oh where's that never heard of it...near Troy...just a little High School. YOU'RE IN HIGH SCHOOL?!?!? That type of thing. Totally OT, but felt like sharing :-P Resume theater setup explanation.

B) 6'3" and 15, so I get it a lot.
C) I thought you were at least in your 20's, maybe 25.
This list thing helps me organize ideas...lol
