Tanya Baxter was played by T'Keyah Crystal Keymáh. You might remember her from the 1996 Cosby show, and In Living Color.

It is interesting that after many of us commented on the silliness of the balcony being partial view a change seems to have been made.

I'm playing the watching/waiting game, hoping they'll drop the front orchestra ticket prices or release a discount code. I have to say that I'm a bit concerned about the lack of ticket sales. Do we think they're overpriced and folks are playing my game, or is the interest really this weak?

I'm definitely waiting for a code (or TDF). I can't imagine there won't be both.

I had heard there was a possibility of an extension for two weeks but with ticket sales being tepid It seems the chances could be slim. I think the production needs a ton of promotion. Ticket prices are VERY high!

The first London incarnation of Bat Out of Hell had high ticket prices. Then when it retured to London, it moved to the Dominion - and prices were a little more reasonable - but they wouldn't discount weekend tickets - no day seats, no discounts. (well, officially - the box office gave us a little discount when we saw a Saturday matinee) so weekend shows were not as full as they might otherwise have been.

Then it will be interesting to see if there will be any discounts.

I got an email, this morning, with a code for a minimal discount.
The code is TELBAT & gets you $20 off select Premium, Orchestra & Mezzanine seats, for Tues-Fri & Sunday evenings.
Also, there's BATFAM20

I've gotten that impression, too!
As I see it, they're dropping the ball, BIG TIME, on the advertising! I work in Manhattan. I cross through Times Square, 2 times a day, 5 days a week. Only 30 minutes ago did I see my 1st add for the show.
Let's be honest. People know the songs as Meat Loaf songs, from decades ago! Since, Meat Loaf is not in the show, they need to BARRAGE NYC with ads that clearly state the Bat Out Of Hell brand/logo, that iconic man on the motorcycle image, and, perhaps, the songs involved.

They picked a weak slot. August is one of the down times for theatre in NYC much like January. Tourists know that it is hot and sticky and many locals are out of town. Things really do not get rolling here until mid September and the run is scheduled through the 8th of September. They should have booked the theatre for September. I imagine they will be counting on the reviews to bring people in. They also probably should book talk shows close to opening.

...and they'd best get crackin' with those TV talk/morning shows in a couple of weeks, at the latest. Perhaps something like this [from London production]: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=YhM9MuVM-Ak

Seems it still is not selling very well. I wonder if the producer will cut the run shorter?

No publicity/media blitz as yet?

This is starting to worry me. It seems to have sold quite will in U.K.
If they shorten the run, I sure hope they cut dates from the end instead of pushing the start date further out.

There have been some advertisements on the back of some of the free newspapers in NYC and someone said they saw a television add.

Posted: 7/1/19 at 10:26amI've definitely seen ads in the past month before watching shows on a streaming service (something via my roommate's Roku).

I've seen ads for this on the subway. Saw one on a billboard on the Jersey Turnpike as well.

This was posted to the Audience Rewards thread yesterday:
"Bat Out of Hell is available for a bunch of dates throughout the run, orchestra seating for 500/250 VIP points, plus $48."

sold well the first time.... the remount did not, and hence it’s closure. Same thing in Toronto. First one sold and the return absolutely did not.

Does anyone know how the Tink character plays into the story line?
Is it made clear that he is gay and in love with Strat, or is all of this vague and noncommittal? According to Wikipedia, the song "Rock and Roll Dreams Come Through" is performed when Tink dies in Strat's arms and I'm trying to figure out whether the character's supposed homosexuality is a serious plot point or just a vague suggestion that some audience members may not even pick up on.
