Everyone is always just so nice there, plus they are volunteering their time and the money goes to a good cause. It's so sweet to see the little girl selling cupcakes at one table, and other little girls hawking t-shirts and other merchandise at another table, etc. I had trouble locating a particular table and a BC/EFA person looked it right up on his chart for me. Tyne Daly was at a table mid-block 44th St, as was Seth Rudetsky at another nearby table. Just such a nice day that gives you a real sense of theater community. I look forward to it each year.
Seemed less congested this year (although still very busy). Didn't see as many costumes/props. I left with...
An Inherit the Wind monkey ($5) A Holler If Ya Hear Me water bottle ($5) An iPod hand-held phone attachment ($4) A copy of Better Nate Than Ever ($10) An Anything Goes frond fan (free)
Revival cast recording of A Chorus Line Kinky Boots CD sampler Program books from Shrek and Kinky Boots Cat on A Hot Tin Roof playbill signed by Ashley Judd Earrings owned by Tyne Daly
Cups: Cabaret Kinky Boots Aladdin General theater marquees
2013 Easter Bonnet poster signed by the whole cast and the actual DVD of the competition. They started selling that as a set for $25 around 5.
And other various small items.

It was my first time going to the Broadway Flea Market and it was a pretty awesome experience. I went kind of late so I didn't have time to look through everything but I did find some cool stuff.
Playbills I got: 1. Opening Night Assassins 2. Opening Night OBC La Cage Aux Folles 3. OBC On the Twentieth Century 4. OBC The Mystery of Edwin Drood 5. OBC Sunset Boulevard 6. OBC Barnum 7. OBC Passion 8. OBC Blood Brothers 9. OBC Kiss of a Spider Woman 10. Pippin (with Michael Rupert as Pippin) 11. Master Class (with Audra McDonald) 12. A random Les Mis Playbill from the Original Production
I also got a Big Fish Mug, the "Drink With Me" Les Mis Shot Glass, and a Cinderella Prop for my friend.
I was there today. It remains one of my favorite events of the year, even if this year wasn't quite as fruitful for me as in years past. I overslept so I didn't get there till amost noon, but I still fount plenty to be excited for.
My favorite things are likely the IF/Then opening night gifts, but also the Hands on a Hard Body Candy dish. The Leap of Faith Flask is very cool as well. I always go twice, once in the morning and one more time late afternoon for the deals.
My partner and I were dancing around getting the N from Finians Rainbow, but the price remained too high and I am not sure if anyone else dealt with it but the climate change parade was AWFUL. To top that off, there was a Mexico Independence day Parade on Madison so getting to the East side was simply a nightmare. The thought of carrying a very heavy neon letter through times square just seemed unbearable.
I really wanted that Joan Rivers Documentary poster that was signed at the Grand Auction but I am sure it went for quite a bit.
boy, this year was awesome, bought way too much but some highlights
Dead Accounts Ice Cream Scooper ($2) Bullets Over Broadway opening Bullet Keychain (10$) and Train Whistle ($5) Bridges of Madison County Softball Team Hat ($10) Bloody Bloody Andrew Jackson cast signed window card from the original run at The Public ($10+25$ frame from triton) Realistic Jones "Sweatpants" Opening Night shoulder Bag ($20) and stuffed squirrel in a mail box ($5) Beautiful Vinyl ($20) Million Dollar Quartet Japanese Souvenir Book ($3) comes in packaging that looks like a record
and way more stuff for a dollar here, two dollars here.
plus snagged the Carol Channing/ Justin Vivian Bond poster at the silent auction for $60
I've gotta say that I'm extremely impressed with the Newsies for putting together a table even after the show closed and working so hard at it. I don't remember a show ever before having a table even after it closed. Bravo to them!
"What was the name of that cheese that I like?"
"you can't run away forever...but there's nothing wrong with getting a good head start"
"well I hope and I pray, that maybe someday, you'll walk in the room with my heart"
I had a great day today, though my hands, shoulders and back did not. I always set a limit for myself to either force myself to make it last or spend it all and leave earlier, well my limit lasted me all day, and I spent 100 dollars less than in I have in previous years (though thus being my third consecutive time that was to be expected.). I got the following.... About 70 cast recordings, almost all of which were a buck; highlights include falsettoland, follies 2011, Debbie does Dallas, the life concept album, ragtime, 2011 porgy and Bess, Priscilla Australian cast, and violet ocr, not Broadway, I kinda can't be bothered to spend more than a dollar on CDs cuz when I buy them on the normal at thrifts, etc they are usually a dollar, and wirse was I found a table bout halfway thru the day as they pulled out a bunch if cast recordings and said they were all a dollar, I bought every one they had, but then hearing 5 dollars elsewhere, it jaded me, though I was looking for violet, Aladdin and beautiful OBCRs, I saw violet, then I didn't see it again all day...? I got about 80 playbills including; phantom opening night, obc merrily we roll along, gypsy with merman, obc lea Miz, obc evita, opening night Shenandoah, out of town do I hear a waltz, obc the act, obc pacific overtures, obc fiddler, Tyne daly gypsy which I had her sign, chorus line obc, obc purlie, obc seesaw, got a few window cards towards the end of the day like bullets, casa Valentina, Godot/nml, etc... But my best gets were the out of print spring awakening coffee table book which I got for 40, the Memphis DVD signed by chad, montego, and David Bryan and joe dipietro for 10, Chicago original cast souvenir program, the recent Fosse bio for 7, jersey boys walk like a manopoky for 30, and a pippin prop of Charlemagne's head signed by john Rubinstein for 10 with some if the paper pippin jumps through thrown in.... Also got a cabaret music sheet signed by Michelle Williams for 5. I also noticed, as an earlier poster here did, a lack of props, or for me at least cheap ones.... Two years I stumbled upon a signed one man two guvnors used trash lid for 5 dollars, signed by the whole cast!!!! It really was a right place, right time thing, they had like 3 and they were gone in about that many seconds. Lol. Also where was the usually raffle wheel, that was always popular...? Overall, it was a great day, had lots of fun, spent lots of money for a good cause, and bettered my theatre collection. Can't wait for next year, already. (Talk about, run on sentence, jeez)
I got a lot of stuff but nothing I'm to excited about. The If/Then opening night gift for $5 was cool. I really wanted that Beautiful Vinyl and saw some people walking around with them but never found one at a table. I'm sadder to know they were sold for $20. I also was hoping to buy an original cast signed Pippin poster, but that didn't happen. Got some cds (Lysistrata Jones, title of show, hands on a hardbody) posters (The Best Man, Elf, Wicked) and programs (Once, H2$ with Matthew Broderick, Bullets Over Broadway, Nice Work...,). The spider-man wire bracelet for $5. It's bed time but I'll make a full list later if anyone wants to trade anything. I also won tickets for Disgraced next Sunday. If anyone else did as well and would be willing to trade dates for another weekend, Wednesday matinee or Thursday night please pm me.
Wow. sounds like everyone had a great day, as did I. Kudos to BC/EFA for consistently delivering on making this one of the most anticipated events of the year. Looks like some of you had some great finds (some I am jealous of). Here are the goodies I procured:
85th anniversary Oscars poster 2013 framed Tonys poster signed by every nominee "Annie" opening night gift tote bag Photo (and moment) with the divine Tyne Daly "Annie" metal thermos Five Drink With Me "Les Mis" shot glasses "Hugh Jackman: Back on Broadway" mug "Patti and Mandy" tshirt "Matilda" magnets Plush Sandy "Carousel" coffee mug "Little House: The Musical" soup cup Original oil painting of a rose commemorating "Beauty and the Beast's" closing night on Broadway Vintage "Broadway On Ice" poster complete with '80s photos of Dorothy Hamill and Davis Gaines GRAND TOTAL: $153
The weather was gross and soupy and it was impossible to get back to Queens with no way to get cross town and no 7 train service but - it didn't rain on the parade!
Dave1606-I remember seeing the Hands on Hardbody plate. I wasn't interested in it because I haven't seen or know much about the show. But glad it found a home.
Did anyone do the autograph line or photo booth? Seeing in photos on here that Tony Danza was a last minute surprise.
I'm not sure about it being less congested versus previous years. There were a few tables on my first round that I skipped because I couldn't even get close.

First time going to the Flea Market (just moved to NYC a month ago). My steal of the day was a copy of the 50th anniversary deluxe edition box set of the OBCR of Funny Girl for $40. It is missing the CD, but I was really only interested in the vinyl, anyway.
Yesterday and last year were more congested, in my opinion, than the previous years. It's almost outgrown the space- I couldn't even get to several of the tables, and I got there at 10.

The numbered mini prints the Mamma Mia! table had that was the person in character with the Playbill a bunch of times in the background and then signed by the subject---I bought Lena Hall's and Bryce Pinkham's.
I really, really wanted the Hedwig guitar string bracelet with the case signed by Neil, Lena and Tits of Clay at the Broadway Green Alliance table, but it was $50, and I asked throughout the whole day, hoping the price would drop by the end. Right before I left (around 5:45) I offered them ALL I had left, which was $37, and they said no. Oh, well. Still really happy!
Wow! It looks like everyone who was able to go got a bunch of cool stuff! I am wanting to go next year and I had a question. Which booths have lots of playbills really cheap? I know many of them do, but if anyone remembers specific ones I would greatly appreciate it.
I believe Dancers over 40 table was doing 2 for $1. I think Cinderella had theirs at $1 a piece. $5 seemed to be the going price for the Tony Playbills at most tables rhat had them. Can't recall the others.

I really think it just depends on the playbill. Out of curiousity, did anyone see a cast signed Violet playbill? I looked through the playbills at roundabout but did not see any.
