This is nice to hear about, but I'd definitely wait a year or more to return to this. I've never felt so violated as when I attend this event. People breathing down my neck and up my a#%, getting hit, shoved, whacked by the backpacks of people with no concept of space, and seeing people fight over literal garbage.
It would be nice if they create a single file type of deal or time entries to create some semblance of space and sanity.

Or you could, you know, just not attend?"
Or they could actually work towards creating a non-barbaric environment that existed pre-Covid.

Agreed, bettyboy72. The flea market was a nightmare pre-COVID and I’m sure it’s going to be a nightmare post-COVID; though I will be more than gladly attending this year. When I went in 2019 I held off on going until about 2 PM which really improved the experience... I wasn’t very interested in a lot of the hot-ticket items anyways, and if you’re there around closing then a lot of the vendors are more than happy to just give away some of their less-popular items.

I agree. I went once when it opened in the morning and it was CRAZY. However, I went back at 4pm and noticed that's when the best deals are given (plus there is more space!) I plan to go after 4pm this year as well just to check it out and also check out the live auction.
I hope there's more merch from closed shows this time. I definitely won't really be getting in there (except at the T-shirt tables) but my interest in digging around for hidden gems had already waned before the pandemic. I know there's no hope for the Playbill tables but it would solve so many issues if more tables were better organized so people could quickly see what they wanted. Like the table that sells all the recordings of the concerts was great about that.
Sorry I'm going to miss it this year. I'll be in NYC the weekend prior - seeing the first performance of "Moulin Rouge" on that Friday night, and seeing "Little Shop" on Saturday. In all my previous years of attending the Flea Market, I've always enjoyed it so much.
I do wonder if this will actually end up happening. Both the Mermaid Parade in Coney Island and the West Indian Day Parade have been canceled this week, and it's summer. I just assume fall will be even worse. Hopefully it does, but knowing how crowded it gets I'm not too optimistic, sigh.
I’m hoping to go. I also hope they’d be able to use more streets so as to space people out. I wonder how much built-up miscellany has been hanging around in various storage spaces and backstage!

Even if they hold it, I won't go. My health is more important than a flea market.
I am also eager to hear any news as I usually like to attend this flea market every year. I live in Montreal and over the past few years have really enjoyed and found some great items for shows that I have seen over the past few years. Quite concerned how they will be planning this event safely this year. Although last year‘s event was canceled, I was very happy to see that many interesting items were auctioned off online which I was able to purchase knowing the money was going to a very worthwhile cause for BCEFA. Depending on when this information will be coming out, along with safety precautions, I will then decide if I am able to attend. Would love to hear from fellow collectors that enjoy collecting theater memorabilia and who may be attending this year. Feel free to reach out to me ( public or privately) as I would love to hear what people have in their collections from attending this wonderful fundraising event in the past, and what people are looking for to add to their collections this year.
I asked a few friends earlier today but I’m wondering if anyone thinks the actors are going to “work” the show tables or, will it be strictly volunteers?
I’m just curious because it seems a bit strange to not do the autograph tables due to Covid (which is understandable) but to still have the actors at their show tables because to me, it is the same type of exposure.
