I've never liked any of Wildhorn's shows.... but I loved Bonnie & Clyde.... It was wonderful. Too bad for the show.... but the producer's didn't do enough to make sure it would last.... why wasn't I offered a comp in the first few weeks???? I work in a hotel in the theatre district... where were our comps? I can't recommend your show to guests if I haven't seen it. I actually had to buy my own ticket, which I don't mind doing, but like I said... two months went by without me telling a single person to see the show......
Really sad to see this show go, haven't seen a show I really loved in a while.

fingerslake said: that any shortcomings his characters development might have, you wouldnt notice it because of the brilliant performance he gave.
HOW can that be? How can he BE "brilliant" if there are character development shortcomings? That just doesn't make sense.
(I'm not questioning your assessment of the show -- just that particular comment.)
MADONNA -- Do you OFTEN get free tickets to shows because of your job?
If we're not having fun, then why are we doing it?
These are DISCUSSION boards, not mutual admiration boards. Discussion only occurs when we are willing to hear what others are thinking, regardless of whether it is alignment to our own thoughts.
Dear HappyPhantom, Thank you kindly for so accurately illustrating my point and also, for providing a perfect and fresh example of the type of situation where rather than simply disagreeing with someone's viewpoint on an issue, a person will seek to discredit someone else's viewpoint by attacking them, rather than debating the issue being discussed. It's actually rather amusing...
I didn't say it wasn't closing, I just said an official notice hasn't been posted yet. :)
People on here seem to think they know everything, because they heard something from a friend of the guy who cleans the toilet in the apartment of one of the stagehands' sisters.
"MADONNA -- Do you OFTEN get free tickets to shows because of your job?"
Not to speak on Madonna's behalf, but I've had a similar job before and, yes, comps at the beginning of a shows run are very common. I had a comp to the Book of Mormon back in the beginning, even when they were selling out and didn't even need my recommendation.
"If this is going to be a Christian nation that doesn't help the poor, either we have to pretend that Jesus was just as selfish as we are, or we've got to acknowledge that He commanded us to love the poor and serve the needy without condition and then admit that we just don't want to do it." -Stephen Colbert

I've noticed that the show and cast members have dropped their FaceBook and Twitter campaign to drum up ticket sales and public support. I'm certain that they were told that the producers have made their decision. It's a damn shame.
Pit Mole, although I agree with your general point, it is not really appropriate to diagnose psychopathology based only on people's message board posts.
Jimmy, what are you doing here in the middle of the night? It's almost 9 PM!
Question for all: Does it ever happen that a new producer buys out an original producer who wants out, to maintain an existing show? I'm thinking that what B&C needs a new producer who will back this show to become a hit. Is that a possibility given that the current producers (Bialystock and Bloom? - jk!) want to close the show someone else might step in to take it over, or has this never happened in the history of Broadway?
I was at that show too, my fourth time seeing the show. I think that was def the best audience I've experienced so far. I was so happy to see such a packed house! I really, really hope there is a chance this show will have life after Dec. 30th, I'm in love with this show, and I can't get enough of it! It's such a special show, and the cast is so amazing - and sweet!
fingerlakessinger - I'm sorry you had a rude kid sitting behind you! I don't remember hearing him (I was in the front), so hopefully Laura couldn't hear him. But, I experienced something like that at this show too, so I feel your pain! There was this little boy sitting behind me - like 5 or 6? - he was just sitting there eating candy (VERY loudly, smacking his food, and crinkling the wrapper) during the second act when people were being shot. It didn't even seem to phase him. Not until the shoot out, I think I heard him yell "mommy!" I don't understand why you'd take a kid that young to this show, it's not exactly a kid's show. But I thought it was a little disturbing how he was watching those people get shot, and just acting like he was at the movies, or something. Shouldn't that stuff still give kids nightmares? What's wrong with this country now that this has become normal? Am I alone here in thinking this? (And sidenote, no one goes to the theatre to listen to kids smacking their food, or that crinkling wrappers! I wanted to tell his mom to shut him up, or take him out! I was very annoyed!!) *rant done, haha.
Millie...just a quick question...did "Raise A Little Hell" give you full on goosebumps or was that just me...especially on his last "Hell!" hahah but yea, I guess it only was loud enough for me to hear tho (the kid)
"Life in theater is give and take...but you need to be ready to give more then you take..."
I attended the evening performance yesterday, and at the end of "Raise A Little Hell," the woman sitting in front of me exclaimed, "He's AMAZING!!" out loud in the middle of the last note, at which I had to smile. The house was very close to full, and most people around me seemed to love the show, including several who noted the bad reviews but were either Wildhorn fans or had heard good word of mouth about B&C.
I feel that the grosses that come out tomorrow will be very telling as to the show's future and the potential of an official announcement from the producers, but I can only keep hoping that the show will get a little bit more time. The cast is really hitting their stride.
On a side note, there was a short stoppage in the second act last night due to an ill (fainted?) patron in the house, right before "Dyin' Ain't So Bad," and Ms. Osnes did a simply wonderful job of pulling the audience right back into one of the show's best moments when things resumed.
Honestly, there's many moments every time I've seen the show that I've gotten goosebumps, and that's one of those moments. I LOVE that song! Jeremy does such a fantastic job with that song! I think with that song you fully understand his motives in the second act for killing the people he does. It's such a creepy moment, but SO powerful! I love that type of theatre!!
Emma - where did you hear it's moving to New World Stages? I'll be fine if the show moves, I just don't want it to close completely. As long as the entire cast moves with the show, and they have the same special effects.
While I suppose 'anything is possible', I don't see how this is anything but the end for B&C.
If tickets are not on sale past the end of the month, how could it possibly stay open? To whom will they perform in January? Even if they put tix BACK on sale tomorrow, how many could thtey possibly sell in the next two weeks? Seems like a pipe dream boys and girls.
(I'm not making any comments about the show or wishing its demise -- just trying to be realistic. I'm sure the closing notice will be out tomorrow -- especially since the box office has mentioned the closing and the cast has been rumored to have been told -- Fri night? Press releases are seldom ever made on the weekends.)
