Folks are going through Kubler-Ross' five stages of grieving for this show. "Bargaining" and "denial" are two of the stages. You can see all five of them if you go back and read some of the posts.
I went yesterday and the people around me were all from out of town and had gone on recommendation from their friends. So, at least some good word of mouth is going around. That said, it seemed pretty full.
Stark was in the audience; it was his first time seeing it since he left. He was blown away by Jeremy's singing/performance and was just so supportive of everyone & the show. They were all so adorable talking together at stage door. The cast seemed still hopeful for a cast recording as well as going beyond the 30th. Or at least, that's the front they put on at stage door.
I love the show and will be back on the 30th, last day or not.
If Dec. 30 is indeed the closing day, why hasn't an official announcement been made?? The show will be gone in less than three weeks, at least give the family & friends of cast members as well as fans of the show a chance to possible see the show one more time.

Family and friends know. By now, so should the fans. The word has gone out to cast and crew - why they have not officially announced is a mystery. Maybe it's one of the contractural things Wildhorn does, as in the case of Dracula.

"Question for all: Does it ever happen that a new producer buys out an original producer who wants out, to maintain an existing show? I'm thinking that what B&C needs a new producer who will back this show to become a hit. Is that a possibility given that the current producers (Bialystock and Bloom? - jk!) want to close the show someone else might step in to take it over, or has this never happened in the history of Broadway?"
I don't know about Broadway, but it happened to Spelling Bee in Chicago. The show announced its closing, and the theatre owner leased the production from the original producers in order to extend the run.
I was coming here to ask why an official announcement hadn't yet been made...curious......

"It never should have transferred, the reviews in SD were bad too."
Well, there you have it. Everyone knows that the critics in South Dakota are brutal and that a bad review from one of them is the kiss of death on Broadway. If only the producers had paid heed.

Louis Hobson is going crazy with his facebook updates about discounts for the show. I haven't seen it, but I'd hate for it to go the way of The Scottsboro Boys or BBAJ.
GO SEE IT! posted the code on my facebook page and hoping everyone will go see it....great show! GO, GO, GO
Are the producers of BONNIE & CLYDE messing up Jeremy Jordan's chance to transfer NEWSIES by stubbornly not announcing a closing date? I don't know when NEWSIES opens but I saw the marquee has gone up...
Newsies rehearsals don't begin until February 15. B&C will be long closed by then.

Millie- I was using sarcasm.. it seems the whole "New World Stages" gag is popular on these forums hahaha
And yes I did attend that Sat evening performance when the show stopped. I do not know what really happened though....
Also... i LOVE Jeremy's belting durin "Raise a Little Hell." Gave me goosebumps.
Loved the show, I hope it doesn't close even though it probably will soon!

So were the cast and fans of [titleofshow]. These campaigns never work. B&C will not see the new year.

I'm well aware of it... it's just a damn shame that this has to happen to such a fresh show like B&C.
That's showbiz, though.
If they would sell ALL tkts for 50 Bucks (get it?)
They could maybe fill the houses, they wouldn't make any dough but lots of people would see it and tell others, etc. etc. etc.
You can get $41 seats on tdf, so Louie's discount ain't that great, but he's givin' it a go. Preach.
This is starting to get pathetic.
You started it.

I was at the Sunday matinee and there was an exchange between a patron and an usher that went a little something like this:
Patron: Is it a good show?
Usher: It's everything you could want in a Broadway musical...and it's closing on the 30th.
Patron: Why?
Usher: Watch the show and then you tell me.
Patron: So it's for sure closing?
Usher: We're performing until Dec. 30th unless a miracle happens.
That's verbatim.
I saw the show on Thursday. I really really enjoyed it. They did have a hold during the 1st act though that lasted 10 to 15 minutes. They had a problem with some of the set that wouldn't move.
I really enjoyed the music but with that being said I generally only see shows once and shows closing is just a matter of the business and gives me a chance to see new shows. The whining that goes on in here about trying to save the show is ridiculous.
