Per BarbraNews.com, it will likely feature songs from Wicked and Ave Q. Plus, a tour is expected too.
Don't shoot the messenger.
Well if she sings "I Can Be As Loud As The Hell I Want" it would be definitely something I would look into purchasing.
Maybe even "It Sucks To Be Me" or "The Internet is for Porn"...
You'll only be able to dream. I doubt she'd do anything from Q but "Fine Fine Line." And she'll probably do either "Not That Girl" or "For Good" from Wicked.
i hope she never sings any of the songs from those 2 musicals.
My guess is that she'll go for "Defying Gravity" from Wicked. She can definetely pull it through and I think she will be GREAT in it !

Slightly off tangent, has Babs ever recorded 'Tell Me It's Not True' fro "Blood Brothers"?
No, jgph.
The Barbra of 1980 would have made this an exciting recording.
Now, not so much.
LOL! - Marquise!
I'm going to watch 'Color Me Barbra' this weekend.
It is only a rumor.
The Barbra of today has no sense of humor; I fear The Third Broadway Album might feature nothing but dull ballads with dull arrangements; the deaths of Peter Matz and Don Costa are a huge loss.
Dull is correct.
I've got 'Guilty Pleasures' on my iPod but I skip her songs every time.
What are we going to do about Babs?

The project itself was highly debatable, but she DID seem to 'let her hair down' for MEET THE FOCKERS - moreso than I was expecting.
I like her in "Fockers".
Maybe another Streisand/Danner project should be in the works.
It was phony hair. :)
Get rid of Brolin.
Get rid of all of her 'yes' people.
Get her fat ass back to NYC.
She is guilty of being rich too long. . .
I bet she still has some art in there to give us.
It was cool that she got to work out her son issues in Pince of Tides and Meet the Fockers.

I only pray that this is true. Her 1st one is a classic. The 2nd one is a bit over produced, but had some great performances (Sunset Blvd., Sondheim). For those of you who love Q and Wicked (as I do), you should be happy that Babs will want to record songs from those shows. it is a HUGE break for the songwriters and the shows to have a cover done by a MAJOR artist and label. She helped make "Memory" a hit! I agree that she should let her hair down more, per se. On Guilty Pleasures, my favorite track is the dance tune. She's just wailing and having a blast. I do think a different producer would guide this to being a terrific album. I'll buy it anyway!
We should start bombarding her website with song suggestions. i'd love to hear her record "Holding to the Ground" (Falsettos) or "Hold on" (Secret Garden) or how about "I'm Breaking Down" (Falsettos)? I'm sure they'll be a healthy dose of Sondheim. Probably from Passion.
Good luck Babs - do it!
If she records a song from PASSION I will faint from sheer happiness. My favorite singer singing my favorite musical!
I can really see her recording "I'm Not That Girl" or "There's a Fine, Fine Line" but I seriously doubt she will..My guess is that if this really happens, she'll definitely record something from LIGHT IN THE PIAZZA.
And fflag - get rid of Brolin? are ya NUTS? The man's HOT. He's 35 years older than me and I would still do him in a second.

Barbra's first and second Broadway albums were pure genius, and probably the best in the genre. However, her albums of late have been a bit boring as has been previously mentioned. The Movie Album was quite a disappointment as far as song selection and arrangements. Of course, it is still Barbra's voice....
Hopefully, this new album will be reminiscent of the original Broadway albums, and not of the last 4 or 5 albums she has released.

Let her do a collection of Bway and Off Bway songs.
I want:
1. ROSE'S TURN [supposedly she did a medley of this and Some People that is in the vaults]
2. LIFE STORY [FROM CLOSER THAN EVER]
3. EVERY DAY A LITTLE DEATH
4. MOON IN MY WINDOW
5. I'VE GOT EVERYTHING I WANT
6. CHANSON
7. AT THE BALLET
8. CROSSWORD PUZZLE
9. BY THE SEA
10. MAKE SOMEONE HAPPY
11. IT'S A PERFECT RELATIONSHIP
12. I LOVED YOU ONCE IN SILENCE
Considering her "son issues," what if she recorded "If He Walked Into My Life?"
I think he has more issues with her than vice versa.
Let her sing "You Could Never Shame Me" from "Spider Woman".
To the previous post............what does "her son issues" mean?
Also, another person wrote "Get Rid of Brolin".......what does that mean? Does it mean that she can't be married and be in love???
Hi.
Get Rid of Brolin = that BS is the queen of excuses. Her marriage is the perfect excuse for not working, or not working hard, gaining weight, etc., etc.
Brolin seems like a nice, if dull, guy who has no clue about her as an artist. Come to think of it, neither does she. :)
If Brolin had enough of her antics and dumped her would she regain her fire and ice and actually sing her butt off again or would she turn into Mrs. Norman Maine?
Re her son, he is out and they seem to have a good relationship. More than that is really no one's BI business.
fflag, you know that she'll simply HAVE to include something from her dear, dear friends Alan & Marilyn. I think - if she does go through with it - we should expect at least two songs from BALLROOM.
I don't mind Brolin. At least he doesn't sing. Remember her duet with Don Johnson?
I honestly thing she doesn't care about her singing or acting anymore.
Actually she should do a song from BALLROOM. Fifty Percent?
I don't mind the Don duet. . .although I prefer the Kim Carnes duet.
The Donna Summer one of course is the best of her pop collabs with Josh Groban in the top five.
