LBB is calling out for the first time today at the matinee. Becky Gulsvig will be going on as Elle in her debut performance. I can't wait to see it. I loved Becky when I saw her as Amber. According to the cast, LBB is only scheduled to call out for the matinee, although some people did say there is a chance she won't be on in the evening either.

i hope its tracy jai edwards as margot if annaleigh ashford will play the role as elle tonight...i read in an article that jerry wants becky and annaleigh to spilt the role as elle if laura is not there. since she is replacing leslie as one of the three girls elles friends with. Laura needs to rest her voice and her body. She will def be performing at birdland tomorrow night singing songs from her country album. I hope Becky did very well at the matinee show.
Tracy Jai Edwards does not cover Margot. She swings the ensemble tracks and understudies Vivienne and Serena.
If Annaleigh Ashford was on as Elle or out of the show in general, either Lindsay Nicole Chambers or Beth Curry would be on as Margot.
Tonya Pinkins: Then we had a "Lot's Wife" last June that was my personal favorite. I'm still trying to get them to let me sing it at some performance where we get to sing an excerpt that's gone.
Tony Kushner: You can sing it at my funeral.
Yay for Becky! She was so great as Amber every time I saw her. It was weird seeing her in such a small role in LB after her larger role in Hairspray. I hope someone goes and writes a review for us!
I hope the show goes well. I agree that LBB needs a rest. When I saw the show a few weeks ago, you could tell that she was giving a strong fight to stay on her game. Break a leg Becky!
"This above all: to thine own self be true,
And it must follow, as the night the day,
Thou canst not then be false to any man."
LBB is not sick or anything. I believe she took a personal day to rest and relax to preserve her voice for her "Birdland" gigs from what I heard.
Becky was FANTASTIC. She didn't screw up at all, it looked ilke she played that role for years. Vocally, she was amazing. She riffed the crap out of the remix and "Take It Like A Man" and she looked just like Reese at points. She was adorable and yet, had a slight bitchy edge at points, which worked wonderfully. Also, she had a great "Bend and Snap." FANTASTIC.

Thanks for the review of becky as elle woods for the people who went to the matinee show today. even at watching the youtube video of Laura at virgin sighning you can tell then she needed a day off. i did see her at birdland last monday and she was excellent the all time. Laura is on stage near the all time on stage. i say 99.9 percent. I am happy to read that becky did well as elle woods. Did she go to the stagedoor after the show, i mean becky?
Becky was extremely gracious at the stagedoor. She came out to sign in the rain after the matinee and stopped and chatted. She is gorgeous with a killer voice and was just amazing. I can't say enough good things about her.
