Great singers! I also think Lea Salonga and Christiane Noll would qualify to be among some of the finest. Also Debbie Gravitte. Just a few of my favorites not mentioned. :)
I'll chime in with my favorite - Rachel York. She last appeared in a musical on Broadway in "Scarlet Pimpernel," so some of the younger folks may know her only as an actress. She was recently in "Sly Fox." But WAIT till you hear her sing in the upcoming "Dessa Rose." My bags are already packed!
i agree with laactress Idina Menzel Jenna Leigh Green Kristin Chenoweth Eden Espinosa plus Shoshana Bean
A dancer might dream to see her name in lights and mean it,
but all she really dreams is to make someone
else feel the way she did when she first saw a dancer.

When someone blunders, we say that he makes a misstep. Is it then not clear that all the ills of mankind, all the tragic misfortunes that fill our history books, all the political blunders, all the failures of the great leaders have arisen merely from a lack of skill in dancing. - Moliere
I just wanted to add Natalie Douglas, Linda Eder, Kerry Butler and Julia Murney

Does anyone know Wendy Coates? She has a great recording out, but I 've never seen her live. I love her choices of music. Reminds me a little of BPeters.
I agree with Judy Kuhn wholeheartedly...one of my all time favorite voices and the most versatile voice out there...still!
Too difficult to say who is best...all very different.
