Broadway Performers From Your Town

I saw the high school one so i thought id broaden it to town. Two people that live in my town are Harvey Fierstein and Stephen Schwartz. Sometimes I see Harvey and Stephen came to my school a couple of times. How about all you? :)

Ooh... a surprising amount of people are from around here. Stephen Flaherty, off the top of my head (not a Broadway performer, but... close enough!) That's the reason there's references to Pittsburgh in Seussical... *feels proud*

Let's see... who else? Rob and Kathleen Marshall (again, not performers...), and I think Stephanie D'Abruzzo (sp?) is from nearby. There's a few more. Like I said on the other thread, one of the chorus members of Wicked went to my high school.

Alot of performers went to college here, too, at CMU.

Oscar Hammerstein (okay, a composer), and Idina Menzel came from 20 minutes away fro mme, my friend's town.

Not Broadway but Bruce Springsteen and Bon Jovi are nearby. And there kids go to a camp where a few of my friends go. Im not sure if they go anymore though.

Ethan Hawke is from my town and went to my high school...although he's off-broadway right now so I'm not sure that qualifies for this thread.

Not Broadway, but Julia Roberts is from my town. It's cool.

Also, Sutton and Hunter Foster grew up here for a while.

christine baranski went to my mom's hs... i saw her some of my mom's old yearbooks... lucille ball grew up an hour and a half away... and not broadway, but ani defrano, goo goo dolls, and my twin chad michael murray are all from here... beacon can add to the list :P

Kathy Brier (sp?) is the only person I know of. I'm from Staten Island. There has to be others that I just don't realize were from here.

Well, looks like zepka102 is from MY hometown!

I went to school with Jesse L. Martin and performed in a couple of shows with him.

Also, composer Harold Arlen is from our town!

Trevor Eaton (played Little Jake in the revival of Annie Get Your Gun w/ Bernadette) lives here. We did community theatre together when i was younger. I went back to my high school to see the musical this spring (Anything Goes) and he rocked the house. He played the British character. I'm not sure why he didn't get the lead (since he was the only one who could sing), but he was amazing. The "Gypsy in Me" song was out of control. Watch out for this kid - he's going places.

Sarah Paulson went to my high school...
I'm sure there are plenty of stars that have grown up in NY but I can't think of any at the moment.
