I would love to catch a couple of shows this year at Broadway at Bryant Park, does anyone remember in past years when the schedule is usually posted of when each show is performing? Thanks for any help!

I know, that's why I was asking if anyone knew WHEN they would be posted. Sorry if I wasn't clear. But thanks anyways.
There isn't an exact date when they will post them that everyone knows about. Just keep checking Bryant Park's website.
Always a treat - looking forward to this again!
The 2008 schedule was announced at the end of May.
I'm new to the NYC area. What is this exactly? Just like a concert series?

Every thursday in the summer, about 5(?) shows perform a selections of songs in the park. It's very laid back and a lot of fun. Get there early to get a chair and a spot in the shade! (A lunch is always good too!)
^
How early is early?
Kirbycat: these have traditionally been LUNCHTIME performances starting at 12:30pm and running until 1:30pm or 1:45pm.
I think Kirby meant about 5 shows have performed. Not that they've performed at about 5.

I get there VERY early because there are generally some psychotic fans and other psychos there...seriously, the creepy people come out for these free events...anyway, for the "bigger" show dates, I get there by 8:30. Otherwise, normally 9:30/10:00 a.m. Soundchecks generally start by 11:30 (sometimes earlier, sometimes later)...and the performances go from about 12:30 to 1:30/2:00.
Totally awesome...free...fun!

Oh! Sorry! I did NOT mean that they perform AT 5, jordangirl was right by saying that I mean about 5 shows perform each time...
But yeah, get there at around an hour before so you can snag a chair/table in the shade... Sitting in the sun is HELL for me. I don't know about you guys, but I'm the one in the shade haha
(:
Enjoy! I know I'll be there!

So not thrilled about the other shows performing with next to normal. Hmmm... I'll have to decide if it's worth taking the day off...
Thank you for posting the schedule! I'll miss Next to Normal.
Thanks for the schedule! I wish they mixed it up differently, but whatever.
Anyways, regarding the time you need to get there, 8:30 is definitely way too early. It is not one of those shows where the park is packed so much, you can't move. I've been there after it started and managed to get seats near the front and also I've stood up in the middle of the park. Each time I've had a good view. The first time I went, I got there about 10:30-11 and there was barely anyone there. Sure you will get prime seats if you get there then, but it really isn't necessary. So 8:30 is definitely way to early. Especially if it is a hot day, it'll be brutal.

Weird, they performed in a previous season - I think last year. Lauren Kennedy performed in it. I didn't hear anything about the show after that, so I thought it was canceled or postponed. Anyways, is she still attached, because I thought Vanities was coming to Broadway?
Smart to put them on the same day as 9 to 5 when Dolly Parton fans will come.
I'm really suprised HAIR isn't performing. It would be like their return to the outdoor arena lol
Not that one has anything to do with the other.... but doesn't the Broadway softball league play on Thursdays in the park?
No Hair? They seem like they would be the first ones to volunteer. They would definitely draw a crowd.
I also wish WSS would perform.
They didn't mix them up very well. Why do I have to sit through Phantom and Stomp to see In The Heights?
I didn't even realize Hair was not performing! Maybe if another show cancels out for some reason, Hair will hopefully fill in.
No Hair? Damn, I was banking on that!

I'm not that thrilled with the line up this year...
Last year I got to sit through Spring Awakening(their public performance was OK), Young Frankenstein, Legally Blonde, and 13.
Then also last year... Xanadau, GYPSY, Wicked, and Mary Poppins.
It was amazing!
