I would go on unemployment as soon as you do your last show.....there is also organizational help...."
Unless the show officially closes and employment is terminated, you are not eligible for unemployment benefits. Similarly for other jobs, unless your employment is terminated, you do not qualify.

Both shows are expected to perform as scheduled on Wednesday night. The Shubert Organization, which operates the Booth, subjected that building to a deep clean on Wednesday, according to three people who were told about the measure. The Brooks Atkinson is operated by the Nederlander Organization.
So much for this being a rumor that started on reddit..... This is different from coming on the boards to discuss casting theories and shows that might open. Why anyone thought people would “invent” this rumor is beyond comprehension.

A "deep clean" doesn't prevent the infected usher from having spread it to the other staff members in the house, not to mention the hundreds of people he or she interacted with. As I've said before, the virus is asymptomatic, some people may never experience symptoms, but that doesn't prevent them from spreading it to others.
The usher worked last week at performances of a new revival of “Who’s Afraid of Virginia Woolf?,” now in previews at the 766-seat Booth Theater, starring Laurie Metcalf and Rupert Everett. Before that, the usher also helped manage lines one or more performances of “Six,” a new British musical about the wives of Henry VIII, which is in previews at the 1,031-seat Brooks Atkinson Theater.

Besides the two productions, you have to take into consideration that people seeing previews are often frequent theatergoers who are likely to also see new productions around this time.
Sadly, this was bound to happen. Eventually either someone working or attending the theater was going to be infected/or a carrier.
Damn.
If we're not having fun, then why are we doing it?
These are DISCUSSION boards, not mutual admiration boards. Discussion only occurs when we are willing to hear what others are thinking, regardless of whether it is alignment to our own thoughts.

Interesting. Booth is a Shubert house and Brooks Atkinson is a Nederlander house. I'm guessing the usher is a sub? I'm not too familiar how it works to usher but I always thought regular ushers always work in the same house.

Exactly. Unless the theaters email people attending tonight letting them know or it gets picked up by every news outlet online, a lot of people attending tonight probably won't be aware of this. Yikes.

They should at least email all the ticket-holders and let them know the situation. Not cancelling the show is one thing, letting people making the decision for themselves whether to attend is another.
