Everyone was there to see a movie so ill-conceived and so baffling and so unhinged and it absolutely delivered. Swift was not nearly the worst in it; she wasn’t even bad at all considering she was a glorified cameo."
Oh, the joy of that weekend! It's what I call a deathbed memory. When I go out, I plan to think of all the most hilarious things I got to experience on this rock hurtling through space and my husband shrieking 'Why do they have HANDS???' about the cockroaches is one of those memories. So is that poor girl who, near the start of the film, didn't understand why people were laughing and said, 'Can you guys just stop.' I replied, 'No,' and the night continued on in its disastrously campy glory. I believe that was at the old Cinepolis/Chelsea Bowtie theater which was my favorite in the city. Alas, 'tis no longer. I blame Cats.
