Does any one know any more or how she is!
Fell doing Hot Honey Rag into the pit in i believe Fire Island
Saturday night August 19th, Chita Rivera was performing onstage at the Ice Palace at Cherry Grove in a revue celebrating her 70 years onstage. Evidently, she was performing all her famous numbers - some more than once. Then there have been reports that she suffered a fall onstage.
While performing "The Hot Honey Rag" from Chicago she supposedly fell into the drum kit all the way down. I think maybe she fell off the front of the stage and into the pit???
The musicians lifted her up and initially Chita said "Let's finish the number" like the old trouper she is...
But then Chita went into shock and had to be lifted off the stage.
OMG I hope she is okay
Someone needs to tell her that it's time to stop.
So scary. Hope there wasn’t any big injury.
Chita attended Goodnight Oscar on Wednesday (yesterday) and was photographed standing with members of the cast. So I think & hope she’s ok, but that’s scary nonetheless.

There isn't a pit in the Ice Palace. The stage is a platform about 1' high.
So, possible she fell into the drums or fell off the stage, but it wouldn't be a far fall.

Nobody needs to tell her to stop. She will when she wants to. She's Chita.

For a 90 year old, 1' could be a very far fall.
My heart just went to my throat. I pray this fall doesn't leave any residual effects on her well-being.
Yes, Chita is a legend, a Queen...all of that is true. But let us not kid ourselves and be realistic here. Chita Rivera is a 90-year-old mortal woman and a fall, any fall like this can be life-threatening!
Wishing the best for Queen Chita, a legendary talent and one of the kindest people in show business.
I had friends who were there sending me live updates while I'm out of town directing a show.
She did fall and then...they used the phrase 'fainted.' But she was seen not long after having dinner at a restaurant nearby. So she seems to have recovered well...but yeah...90 and a fall could be terrifying. But she's managed to come back from worse. A real f-ing trouper who will stop when she wants to.
The ultimate gypsy and always with a "the show must go on" attitude. But she's 90 and shouldn't be dancing full reviews for 90 minutes.

ARE YOU CHITA'S DOCTOR?????????
And it's "revues," not "reviews."

Sounds like a condition my dad has had before, where it seems super-serious in the moment but is ultimately a passing problem. Glad to see she seems to have recovered, based on her Instagram post from Goodnight, Oscar on Wednesday!
Thanks for the updates: glad to hear she is doing well.
For some people, still continuing to perform very late in life not only keeps their bodies in shape, but also their minds. I bet she’ll continue to thrill us with continued performances until she’s legitimately physically unable to.
Oh my! I am so glad she's okay and out & about!

She is indeed an icon, and extremely talented. I had the incredible honor of seeing her,Gwen Verdon and Jerry Orbach in the Pre-Broadway engagement of "Chicago" at Philadelphia's Forrest in 1975. And the incredible honor of seeing herbin the National Tour of "Kiss of the Spiderwoman" at the then Shubert Theater, later the Merriam Theater and now The Miller Theater. A beautiful, talented, exciting performer. There aren't many like her today.

Doesn't anybody attribute anything anymore? This report was lifted word for word from an All That Chat post, which in turn was obviously paraphrased from a post on Datalounge before the ATC post.
That said, while I do believe the event happened, especially given SonofRobbie's report, I haven't seen it referred to anywhere else. Rivera does not seem to have acknowledged it, even though her daughter was present (and possibly dancing with her, according to both untruncated posts).
I imagine she was embarrassed by the accident, and she will probably scale back any future performances.
I'm with ACL2006. She's had a long and successful career. I'd hate for her to be injured doing a strenuous and overly long revue.
Her body, her choice, of course.
