I'm kind of happy for Aiken- he has found something of a niche NOT playing male ingenue roles. "Cute character man" fits him more than "handsome and virile lead" does. Even Joseph, which is so often just eye candy, has more broadly comic elements that he seems to do better in, than something else you would immediately expect an Idol star to be in.

Joseph: (Lead) tenor, a dreamer who is the center of the story, his charm, smile, honesty, loving nature, innocence, and killer good looks and body are the cause for his brothers' scorn., seeking a charismatic young singer-actor with a powerful pop voice that soars with emotion and power who can take the audience on a journey from innocent and naive dreams, to deepest despair, loving forgiveness, and ultimately to glorious triumph.
I have nothing against Clay - he is a good actor/singer, but he seems a tad miscast in this part. But knowing Clay fandom, I am sure there will be a video and I look forward to watching it.
