I don't WANT to live in what they call "a certain way." In the first place I'd be no good at it and besides that I don't want to be identified with any one class of people. I want to live every whichway, among all kinds---and know them---and understand them---and love them---THAT's what I want! - Philip Barry (Holiday)
Once again, the powers-that-be in Ogunquit have really gone out of their way to cast a has-been in a starring role they have no business doing.

Clay has this habit of getting plum starring roles in musicals and then getting rave reviews that lead to more plum starring roles. I bet that just rots your socks off.
The annoying part is that he's just all wrong for the role. The usual look is Max Von Essen. The dark-hair, dark-skinned look. Clay just looks all wrong. Nothing against his talent, but he and I look similar, and I would never get cast to play this role.

Um, yeah, he's getting plum starring roles...in North Carolina and Maine. Not exactly theatrical mecca.
These theaters need the $$$$ his insane fans will bring as they flock in droves to see him.
@RippedMan - Agreed. There's just a certain "look" Joseph needs to have, and Aiken just doesn't have that. However, Aiken is a talented actor. This is just a case of (in my opinion) miscasting. However, I'm sure he won't do terribly and I'm sure all will be well.

Those theaters attract the Who's Who of Broadway and Hollywood. Specially Ogunquit. Don't forget Clay's 2 runs starring on Broadway in Spamalot. Good for Clay for building his resume. The great reviews are a nice plus.
