Unpopular opinion but I prefer Kayleigh Cronin in the role. Also, in HD those costumes look really cheap and tacky on Hilty.

I saw the show last week with Kayleigh and thought she was wonderful.

I saw Kaleigh the first time she went on. I was initially a bit disappointed Megan was out, but Kaleigh was great!
I saw it a second time because I wanted to see it with Megan, and she was spectacular, as expected. They both have a different take on the role, and Megan leans into the campy melodramatic divadom that I really live for. In many ways, the role does seem tailor made for her. Her line reading of "semester..." still cracks me up!
The Tonight Show performance was fabulous, but it really is a different experience seeing it full-blown in person.
She was out again ? Maybe they need to hire a matinee standby for her

The show released a brief clip from the onstage version of For the Gaze on its Youtube channel. Interesting timing after the Tonight Show appearance. Wanting to give a sense of how it really plays onstage?

Natalie Ellis! If you’re still lurking on here, I noticed you had your Madeline put in yesterday! Congrats! Did Kaleigh also have her Helen put in or is that still coming up! Must be such a difficult task having to remember both of the leads on top of your ensemble track.
Is really tough to replicate the energy of this number through a screen. So much is the audience going absolutely crazy for all the bits. Speaking of, is she not "optioning up" during/after that line anymore - the snap is new for me but I haven't seen the show since Chicago.

She did the option up when I went in December!

I thought the costumes looked cheap in the theate as well. Later on in the show the body suits all the chorus are in look really bad.

she blew off Once On This Island after 3 performances? She couldn't sing the score in AIDA and was a terrible Roxie in Chicago.

While I do take issue with her acting, I’ve kind of come around to accepting that she’s basically a star spot in a princess track.
Working in mental health and now knowing the context surrounding her entrance and exit from ONCE…ISLAND (I was supposed to see her), I have much more sympathy for her. Many people who struggle with depression sometimes think that throwing themselves out there is the best way to cope, but more often than not, it’s harder than most think to truly return to your emotional baseline, and sometimes biting off more than you can chew can cause regression in symptoms.
In cases like these, you haven’t/aren’t addressing your problems in full, only just enough so you get to a place where you’ll be able to fake it/avoid it. It’s like putting aloe on a very bad sunburn

Sieber was out of the matinee today. Simard and Sieber are both out of the evening show. Natalie Charle Ellis on as Helen; Bud Weber as Ernest. (Hilty on as scheduled.)
