Scherzinger would be incredible in Death Becomes Her but also in general anyone who works as Norma Desmond could be slotted in as Viola or Madeline.
Scherzinger would also make a great Roxie Hart, but let's not split hairs.
Hilty and Company to perform on The Tonight Show

that's nice...
both Hitly and Simard are out again tonight. this show can't hire more swings fast enough. this flu season lasts through March followed by allergy season. get those newly hired swings rehearsed ASAP."
Are these 2 just perpetually sick all the time? They seem to be out of the show a couple days every other week since they opened?

... after being sick? And missing their shows? I think these ladies need a dedicated standby...

I brought this up a while back but I think it got buried in other posts - I haven't seen the show yet, but at least in the curtain call, why do the understudies have completely different costumes than Megan and Jenn? I could understand this happening during previews but now it just comes across as cheap and lazy. I'm also wondering if other costumes in the show are different for the understudies?
Kayleigh has a different body type than Megan and therefore should have a dress that flatters her best.

The dress that Megan wears would look incredible on Kayleigh if it was made for her measurements. Get real.

You haven't even seen this show, why are you so pressed about them changing two costumes for understudies? Both women look fantastic in their gowns.

Megan has been out for awhile now so I'm not sure what's going on but this incredibly cold Winter we're having isn't helping. Megan has lived on the West coast for a decade so getting used to seasons again might be hard on her body. I hope everyone is healthy soon.

I follow someone involved with the show's costume department. They are working on replica dresses for the understudies but due to budget constraints and the time it takes to build these dresses, they aren't ready yet. In the meantime they went to a department store and bought the dresses you see above.

No I haven't seen the show but I have seen these photos and they are clearly super cheap, simplified versions of the spectacular gowns worn by Hilty and Simard. I'm just pointing out the obvious.

How is this not in violation of some sort of guild rule?
I feel this show is going very out of their way to cut corners on budget. Like Josh Lamon's character is clearly a principle character but they're still billing (and paying) him ensemble and having him do the group ensemble numbers.

Could also be a reason why they won't (at the moment) hire more swings.

AEA makes the determination of principal vs ensemble, not the production. Lamon is undeniably a principal, not a featured ensemble track, so I am curious how you know what he is being paid.
I know the capitalization is 31 million dollars, but I can’t imagine the show isn’t making its weekly nut at the moment.
Side note, I’m still shocked we have received any reasoning behind the firing of Universal Theatricals former head. Curious if it had something to do with the rising costs of this show.

He seems to be billed as a principal, not ensemble?

Hilty missed the second or third preview in October, and then didn't miss another show until December 28 (Simard also missed her first that afternoon), which was a month after opening. (Sieber was out for a week before Christmas.) I believe Hilty was next out when she had to bow out between acts the evening of January 4, and then was out through the 8th (the day the evening was canceled entirely because both were out and Ellis, the Helen understudy, had bronchitis/laryngitis/something like that). And then this week.
Anecdotally, there's been a lot of illness going around in my social circles in the last couple weeks, between the flu, norovirus, or just very bad colds.

Yikes! Thank you for sharing. I picked up a last minute ticket on Sunday to catch Kaleigh and Natalie who were both wonderful, however THIS was my biggest gripe. I can understand running to David's Bridal when Kaleigh was going on in early previews, but the show's been open for months. Where are these gals' costumes?! Especially poor Natalie whose dress looks particularly off the rack.
The women are doing really solid understudy work (more and more often it seems...) and the show is selling well, it's a shame there doesn't seem to be a sense of urgency to give audiences the same show "aesthetically" every night.
Also, when Helen gets shot, it looks like Natalie's red coat was missing the "hole" in the back (and the smoke in the front). I thought I might be misremembering Jennifer's coat but then Neil Haskell came on as the Helen double and there was a big black hole in the back of his costume. Just an interesting observation.

I saw the show in previews with Kaleigh, and the costumes definitely appeared off the rack. On particular moment that is was noticeable, during the moment in "Tell Me, Earnest" when Madeline takes the white coat off and is wearing a cheetah flowy outfit and then sits on the couch with the exact same print, when Kaleigh did it, the fabrics were not the same and the bit wasn't as impactful. It's one of my favorite bits in the show.

Oh that's nice, I'll be honest I saw it in Previews and both Josh and Taureen were just listed as part of the ensemble. Glad that's been rectified.
Yeah, they both got bumped up in previews, especially when more material was changed and added. I love it especially for Taurean because he knows how to make a lasting impression with just a few lines and some well-executed side eye.
Side Note: Wouldn’t it be cool to have an Emily Skinner (Madeline) and Alice Ripley (Helen) run?
Was Megan back last night?
