She was out
Damn.
FYI, their Tonight Show performance will air on Monday.

Maybe she’s on vacation ? Didn’t she just get over a cold not long ago ?
Is her family still based out in California? I’m curious if she may have been affected by the wildfires.

I don't think so. The show has been announcing Kaleigh being on on a day-by-day basis.

I doubt there's any long stretch vacations happening this early in the run...

Sorry to say but, Megan missing out on so many performances disqualifies her from being nominated for a Tony Award in such a competitive year!

Just a ridiculous statement. You don't even know what the issue might be that she is missing performances. Sort of reminds me when the Princess Kate speculations of where she was and we know how that turned out.

not at the moment. Kaleigh's been on for a week now plus several performances prior. Nothing crazy. but if Megan misses numerous weeks, it'll disqualify her since Kaleigh performed the role more than Megan.
Isn't eligibility determined by who performed opening night?

Unless you have a new rulebook, you're wrong again.
"The actor or actress who is on contract to perform the role, as of the opening date, will be the actor or actress who is eligible. The actor or actress must perform on a regular performance schedule and must perform in the minimum number of performances to which the producer of such production must invite and make tickets available to Tony voters as required by Rule 2(a)vi). "
The minimum number of performances in this case is 32 since the show opened before April 15. Hilty is the opening date performer. She has already performed in more than 32 performances. Even if Cronin ultimately performed more, it wouldn't disqualify her. (Whether the voters hold it against her or don't see her is another matter.)

Would you mind telling us which rule in the Tony Awards Administration Rules you are citing that would disqualify her for missing performances? We’ll wait. Oh never mind —hopefully you washed it off after you pulled it out of your a**!

We traveled to NYC to see some shows and this was the one I was most excited for, so it was very disappointing to find out that BOTH leads were out (Wed night). We didn’t know until we got to the theater (which was completely our fault for not checking email but we were at a matinee of Sunset Blvd and sightseeing..checking email wasn’t a top priority). The show was good, but we didn’t pay almost $400 for two seats to see understudies.

Is there a souvenir program for this?

Does anybody know if Hilty and Semard performed the matinee today? Are they going on tonight?

Hilty definitely did, and presumably Simard did too. BroadwayDirect has been good about listing absences and has last night's notice about Hilty being out on the 24th but nothing for today. They should both be in.

Megan and Jennifer both were in for the matinee. The only understudy was for Chagall (Kyle Brown).

Thanks, both.
Just got the email saying that Hilty is out for today's matinee so I decided to refund my ticket.
Hilty being out won't disqualify her or really affect her Tony chances. The nominators have already seen her and voters have to see her and will be able to reschedule tickets accordingly.
Remember for all the online drama about Lindsey Mendez being out of Merrily so much, she still was safely able to secure a nomination.

I was at the show and standing at the back of the house and heard the sound mixer and house manager talking about Megan Hilty fighting illness the past week or so. It seems like she tried to push through for a matinee, but didn't feel up to it for a second go at night. Winter is hard!
I commend them for diversifying the numbers they do on TV, but I feel doing this particular one kind of just took all of the jokes out of seeing them in rapid fire succession if you'd seen it on TV. At least in person you see Ass.
I think "For the Gaze" is this show's strongest number.
It also sums up my issues with the adaptation. Madeline is seeking to maintain her youth and gain male validation. At the same time she's caught up in a jealous struggle with her best female friend. At no point, outside this song, does she express any interest in becoming a gay icon. I think it's the wrong song to introduce this character with. The song "I See Me" understood Madeline better.

She doesn’t talk about wanting to be a gay icon because she already is one. Madeline in the Broadway version wants straight men and the industry to see her “the way I see me,” which is also how “the gays” see her but that’s not enough. Listen to the opening verse again, it’s all about “the gaze” and lays out everything she wants. Gay men many love her but she’s not fulfilled by that.

I enjoyed the Tonight Show performance, but Hilty, while showing no signs of giving less than 100%, did seem a bit lower energy than when I've seen her in the show, so it seems like she's still recovering a bit from her illness.
I was worried showing the number on TV would spoil it for people, but honestly, it was such a smaller scale version that I think seeing it in the show, where everything is bigger, will still have an impact.
Also, getting caught up on BlueSky, so apologies if this is been posted before. Ben Brantley gets less attention these days than when he was at the NYT, but I completely agree with his take on this, which was one of my very favorite songs in the show too.
