She had a deal. And her deal said she had to get that dress seen. And photographed. Like Star Jones's wedding garter belt. The change from the "hallowed traditions of Broadway" meant she couldn't uphold her end of the deal.
I have to say, Meredith has given me my newest catch phrase to go with "It's a character choice": "I have flagged your comment for abuse."

Hunter has also seemed to redefine "hate speech."
I'll be honest...I get being upset about the whole red carpet thing. Sure...I'd be disappointed. But, at some point, shouldn't you just turn to the designer and say, 'This sucks...I'm sorry I can't wear your dress' and then head over to Hot Topic or BCBG?

I lurk here alot & just have to say that the FB group started by HF is a joke. They can't possibly believe that they will ever have ANY pull with the Tony producers after this stunt (not that they would anyway) or ever be asked to present or walk the red carpet lol. If any of them had half a brain they would issue a public apology to the actors they have offended & delete the FB group asap. This is an absolute trainwreck.

If you were to post that on Facebook Hunter's "administrator" would deem it hate speech.

Oh, that "I was just upset for my designer" was absolute crap. Such a dodge. I thought it was more interesting when she called that guy "being all into Hollywood" who disagreed with her assertion that the Tonys went to the wrong people. As if the only reason anyone would vote for CZJ or Scar Jo is because they are Hollywood celebrities. She's just so transparently bitter and envious. Although I don't think anyone came off as badly as Patterson. That was just hilarious.
Its fun watching Hunter, Jen, and this Meredith Patterson woman continue to dig themselves deeper holes and make themselves look dumber and dumber (and more and more bitter).
She had a deal. And her deal said she had to get that dress seen. And photographed.
And it sounds like neither one of them confirmed they were actually going to walk the red carpet. They just pinned their hopes on a bunch of assumptions, got petulant when everything didn't go their way, and then tried to mask their immaturity with a bogus "cause" that is based on nothing more than about 9 minutes of Tony coverage, at most. And that is being generous to them. Reality is their argument is really based on less than 2 minutes.
They turned a molehill into Mount Fuji, asked everyone not to bad-mouth the mole and then dissed the mole anyway elsewhere and tried to pretend they didn't. The mole has every right to chew off their genitals and spit them back into their mouths and take Jen's red carpet dress to recycle as a roll of toilet paper.

& frankly- JC publicly declaring that she did not vote for CZJ or ScarJo is really not helping her AT ALL. Apologize, delete the group & pray that people will forget this episode ever happened.

I agree Adam. Meredith's comments are completely random and make no sense in the context of what she has said and done. It would really behoove then to just apologize, delete the FB group and call it a day.
Isn't Meredith the one in "Every Little Step" who yells, "I got a callback!!" outside the audition room and then shushes herself. Seems like something she would do.

Isn't that confidential information? Brutal. Does anyone work for or have any connections to the Broadway League? I wonder what their take on this is, I wouldn't be surprised if Equity gives them a little warning there too.

Backstage at 42nd Street she was nicknamed, ME-redith.
I thought she was a phenominal Peggy Sawyer but this has made me loose all respect for her.

I hope Ms. Cody's Tony voting privileges are taken away from her.

Everytime JC tries to defend herself in this mess she just insults CZJ & ScarJo further. I am AMAZED that no one on their team is taking away their computers.

I just wish poor Mere would edit that website of hers. I feel like the factual, spelling and grammatical errors keep growing!
Poor Me-Me was fine spewing her vitriol until others started disagreeing with her.
This group seems to be remarkably immature and, well, stupid.
Shouldn't their agents or managers or whoever be advising them to STFU?
Don't get me wrong, I'm loving their public display of obnoxiousness, but I think it's time an adult stepped in and pulled the plug.

Meredith has real problem's with her apostropheses'.

& one more thing- though Paula Abdul does not have Broadway credentials & may seem like a joke to some people now she has been a more successful, original and influential choreographer than her detractors on that FB group can ever dream of being.

Ha! They just made the site private. Looks like that new web administrator must be reading this board. Now they can write all the nasty crap they want and not get called out on it. Ah, the courage!

They have to ban all the lurkers they don't know about in order to do that!
Hunter Foster I want to thank those of you for keeping this a positive site. I am taking steps to make sure that no negativity on either side will be tolerated by my administrator--trust me, he can be quite forceful when provoked! The things that have come up from last night and even today have been so helpful and constructive.
One thought that I had a year ago, and I think someone brought it up is to have the Equity awards like the Sag awards. That its a night voted on by the actors. Now, the Sag awards only vote for other actors, but the Equity awards could include everything from best ensemble to best replacement to best book to best dresser if we wanted. Maybe have NY1 televise it or not. All the actors would have to do is vote online and you could have it at a theatre. You could either do that or have everyone who is employed on Broadway in a show at the time (Dressers, stagehands, musicians, etc.) could vote, but that might get complicated. It's an interesting idea and might give the Broadway community a chance to honor itself without the burden of a commercial award show.

HUNTER: WE ALL KNOW "YOUR ADMINISTRATOR" IS YOU!!!!
The group is now private? If he truly cared about his campaign, why hide it from all but the 8000 members? (Including posters here who better C&P all the incriminating updates!) He's totally trying to bury this and make it disappear. "Billy Smith" the sock puppet administrator was only the first step.
He wants everyone to be nice now. He really means it!
So we should start flagging all the comments from hostile supporters about CZJ, Denzel and Scarlett as well, right? I'm sure he'll love all the Facebook notifications.

Yes, the hallowed traditions of Broadway which involves soliciting designers for dresses to wear on the red carpet for promotional reasons.
Shouldn't their agents or managers or whoever be advising them to STFU?
I don't think their agents and managers care about their careers enough to bother; none of the actors involved are exactly high profile.
