I got the exact same apology email. Now I don't feel as special.
I did too. But I continue to feel special.

And TD, to add to your metaphor, after ruining the punch they call you "intolerant" for saying they are behaving in an anti-social way. They use the word "intolerant" because they are trolls and think that word is some sort of kryptonite to people who have called them out.

That broadway guy apology was the first PM I ever got on this board, if I recall correctly.
PMing hasn't really been my thing; if I have something to contribute, I do so publicly. If I don't have anything to add to a thread, I do this weird thing where I don't post there.
Dear Rob...#179
Posted: 8/21/13 at 11:18pm^^^ not troll behavior.

Posted: 8/21/13 at 11:18pmThat's the nicest compliment anyone's ever paid me, Namo.

Posted: 8/22/13 at 8:13amI didn't get no damn apology either!

This isn't about trolls, but someone touched upon a major issue for me - and that's when I receive pm's from posters who totally support me when I have either posted an unpopular opinion or when I'm in an argument with someone.
They think I'd be happy to receive such support but it only makes me angrier. It's like "OH, THANKS A LOT." You won't post your support publicly, therefore robbing me of that support because you're too chicken to speak up, and you want to remain neutral on the face of the board. I hate that so much!
Dear Rob...#184
Posted: 8/22/13 at 9:22amI don't think it's always because they're chicken. I've received PMs like that from members who clearly, or have said that they, do not wish to be dragged into a troll's discussion. I understand and respect that.

I don't think you got my point.
I'm not a troll, Kad. And I'm talking about MY posting an opinion. And I'm talking about an argument I may be having with another NON TROLL.
Dear Rob...#186
Posted: 8/22/13 at 9:30amI got your point and I wasn't saying you were a troll at all.
Dear Rob...#187
Posted: 8/22/13 at 9:31amI would like to suggest when the history of the BWW boards is written, the title is OH, THANKS A LOT.

I even started my post saying this isn't about trolls. NOT ABOUT TROLLS.
and yes, the person is too chicken to support me publicly. NOT ABOUT TROLLS.

Posted: 8/22/13 at 9:39amI apologize if I've offended you, but the intent of my post still stands: there are a number of members on this board who do not wish to get involved in the more prickly aspects; namely, arguments, drama, etc. It's how they wish to experience the board.

I got broadway guy's apology PM, too.
I had no idea what he was talking about, so I didn't respond.

I'm not offended in the least, Kad. I was frustrated that you didn't seem to get what I was saying.
And yes, my intent also stands. I respect that they don't want to show publicly that they support my point of view, but don't secretly whisper it to me. that's nice that you agree with me, but when I'm up against several people who do not agree with me, it would be nice to come to my aid.
I don't know if you notice me much, Kad, but I'm pretty strong with my lone opinions and often am the only one holding them. It doesn't thwart me at all from doing so, but it would be nice if I had support. that's where I stand.

So Broadway Guy was spamming everyone's inbox. Why wasn't he banned for that

I think the word TROLL is a very powerful and clever debate tool to shut up someone, or isolate someone an with opposing views. The funny thing is the definition which was shown earlier says trolls instigate, flame etc. thats exactly what some do with their insults, predudice, and threats of violence
Namo, to clarify since you like to put things in my mouth, i NEVER said i was leaving or thinking of leaving, only that my intern ends next week and its back to school.
and JANE i have gotten alot of PMs from users who have at one time tangled with the BULLIES and have been flamed as well as those who like when "I take it to them", or "dont back down to (insert name here" but are afraid of the consequence of speaking a opinion other then the Bullies.

Agree to disagree. I like receiving a PM of support; it is more meaningful to me than a "I agree," on the board.
Not everyone wants to get involved in the debates here.

I got an apology and I didn't even interact with him.
I just assumed he sent one to anyone who would listen.
