I'm just sitting here watching Frasier reruns and I can't help thinking how teriffic he'd be as Lawrence in Dirty Rotten Scoundrels. Anyone else agree?
I've seen him perform onstage before and he can be so incredibly dull, basically just phoning in his performances. If he chooses to mentally show up, I think he'd be wonderful. Say what you will about John Lithgow, but the man always puts on a good performance.
Not sure about Kelsey. He might be good. Ive always thought Jonathan Pryce would make a terrific Lawrence. Not sure if he'd take a replacement role though.
And on another note which probaly everyone knows but I just realized Its amazing how many members of Frasier have been on Broadway, damn near all of them actually
So I was sitting in my cubicle today, and I realized, ever since I started working, every single day of my life has been worse than the day before it. So that means that every single day that you see me, that's on the worst day of my life.~Office Space
The Following actors are in my book quite probable to succeed lithgow in the part; kelsey grammer daniel davis(assuming he isn't blacklisted) charles shaughnessy brent barrett james naughton
"Grease," the fourth revival of the season, is the worst show in the history of theater and represents an unparalleled assault on Western civilization and its values. - Michael Reidel
i cant see hunter as freddy... and i love him as a performer. Ive seen him in the Producers and Little Shop. I think hes just not enough of a sleaze lol. I'd see it though if he were cast.
If she could sing the part (i really dont think she can lol)... I can see Debrah Messing from WILL AND GRACE as Christine... she'd be funny.. but alas the singing is very important lol.
Kelsey would be a perfect match (and im intrigued at the thought of Stokes as lawrence... he played it in a couple of the readings apparently)

"Breglio would like to go to the Imperial. He calls its owner, the Shubert Organization, practically every day. But getting in there will not be easy.
For one thing, the current tenant, "Dirty Rotten Scoundrels," despite opening to mixed reviews last spring, is doing surprisingly well at the box office.
However — and surely Breglio noticed this — receipts plunged when star John Lithgow took a two-week vacation in July.
The actor will leave the show at the end of the year, and the producers are trying to line up a star replacement (Kelsey Grammar turned them down; an offer is out to Alec Baldwin)."
Looks like Kelsey won't get "Dirty" any time soon.
