Exciting all round, except for Billy Porter being cast in La Cage. Nails on chalkboard.
Also, they mention about it being the first all-black La Cage, but aren't the MUNY doing the same thing this Summer with Norm Lewis?

For the Gala Performance at encores, do you have to dress up? Like suit and tie. Like I’m just going to go the show itself. Not the party afterwards or whatever they do

Absolutely not. Especially if you’re up in the balcony (or even the mezzanine), with the rest of the peasants.
If you're attending the benefit performance, it may be nice to dress up a little bit, but it's certainly not required.
It looks like Wild Party is moving forward without Saheem Ali directing- Lili-Anne Brown is the announced director.
Love La Cage, can’t stand Porter. Pass.
Thank god Wild Party is officially back on the docket with a less overly-busy director at the helm.
I don’t know High Spirits or Bat Boy at all, but I’m excited to see them.
To hear Bat Boy with a full orchestra will be a delight, and also curious to see what Timbers does.
Porter’s “I Am What I Am” is gonna make Audra’s Tony performance look subtle.

Finally, an Albin that will make the audience go, "You know, maybe the son has a point."
Is this going to be the revised Bat Boy we’ve heard about for a decade now?

No one ever said The MUNY's La Cage was an all-black cast. And their cast list has been announced.
(Does anyone in this chat room know how to do a little research BEFORE posting stupid comments on here?)
Ali Louis Bourzgui as Bat Boy, please please please.
I still have to frame my oversized Bat Boy poster given out on opening night in .... 2001.
This is a chat board. A discussion forum. When having a discussion with someone you don’t always stop to do research, that would negate most conversations from actually happening.

It is indeed. But a little research (and by research, I just mean a simple Google search, is all), would negate a lot of the unnecessary questions... but would not prevent discussion and conversation. Maybe it could inspire better discussions ?

Definitely underwhelmed by this lineup, but I'm sure each will be great.

Just picked up Bat Boy tickets. I'm super excited for actually all four shows! All interesting choices. I'll be particularly interested to see who they cast against Porter.
I’m hoping they get Brian Stokes Mitchell as George. I love Billy Porter and I know he would kill I Am What I Am but I kinda wish as someone already mentioned J Harrison Ghee would play Albin. Maybe he is too young? Wonder who could play Jacob. Jeremy Pope?

Mitchell seems like an almost too obvious pick for Georges. Maybe Brandon Victor Dixon?

Heathers ends its run in September it would be awesome to see Kerry Butler return to Bat Boy but this time as Meredith, the mother to the character she played originally.

But we already had a straight George. I was hoping he would be played by a gay man this time.

Brian Stokes Mitchell isn't gay, either.

Excited for HIGH SPIRITS, which was supposed to be featured in the 2018 revue HEY, LOOK ME OVER, but later excised. The rest of the season I'll probably skip.
Oh god I thought Brian is gay!!!! So sorry! Forget what I said. Now I’m at a loss. Wonder now who would be a great black gay actor of a certain age to play George. I know I know he doesn’t have to be gay. But I just wish they can cast all gay characters for gay roles. There are a lot of straight characters there as well so why not cast the gays for the gays.

Hadn’t known anything about High Spirts prior to today. Looking forward to listening to the score!
