Why do I have a feeling Neil will be in Hadestown …

I have a hard time believing that if this announcement doesn't come today that they'd do it on a Friday or over a weekend, unless they announce it from the stage on Sunday at the final performance.
Shows announce closings on Fridays to bury the news. They won't want this to be buried.
Announcing onstage after the final performance would make a lot of sense –– except it will be weird to announce "we're moving to Broadway but Neil isn't" with him standing right there.
Drop the curtain and Lear/Sara/Heather announce it with language along the lines of "and many of the people you saw onstage tonight will be coming to Broadway too" to keep it vague?
(I know I'm in the minority and this isn't happening, but I'd be fine with Heather and Denee as the ones being replaced...)

You asked a question and got the answer. No one knows more than what has been leaked, which has been covered in this thread.
I can't imagine he can handle Hadestown vocally - I guess Shields made it work, but having seen the tour and how it's suppose to sound .... I don't know.
Also I don't think Hadestown needs the cameo?

I imagine they'd want to wait to announce until the run is over/almost over. You can still get some very expensive tickets if you check throughout the day and they'd want to keep the supply/demand high to get the best prices. If I had to choose between a $500 ticket Saturday night vs waiting a month and paying $100, it's an easy call even with cast changes.

How expensive is Hadestown to run if they are already looking for summer stunt casting?!? I know it isn't making $1M a week anymore, but its not like the show isn't still printing profits. I could see them start stunt casting this fall or winter, but summer? Have advance sales for Hadestown fallen that much that they are willing to cut NPH a massive check to try and build some publicity by stepping into the show for a month or two?
Very true. Maybe a Monday morning announcement next week.

FWIW, The Piano Lesson has already taken residence on the St. James marquee. Not that that means much, but it's something.
Cindy? Adams? The Daily Rupert? Geez.
^that reminds me when Mean Girls had put up their marquee at the august Wilson, but had to take them down when Home for the holidays was then scheduled to play the theatre.
Is anyone else's head spinning after reading the Cindy Adams piece...Oy!

It's a WILD ride, that's for sure.
FWIW, I walked past the St. James yesterday and there is NO Piano Lesson signage. These photos are of a digital marquee that can be changed with two clicks.
Does she always write like that? That was rough.
Yeah, rough as in horrible syntax. Who can (or would want to...) read that drivel?

Question: from what Ive seen, the orchestra is on the stage and theres barely any set. Am I missing something or is like this?
Also, theres a constructed view for the book scenes or is more “sparsed” and the focus is in the musical numbers?
Im just asking this because I dont know how many, if any, changes will happen to this for a Broadway run.

Yes she does. I can't even imagine what her pieces look like before an editor looks at them.
Is she the oldest journalist working for a major publication? She's 92.
My thoughts: if this is indeed true (and I believe/hope it is...), this goes first to the Times who puts it in the Friday edition (where they no longer have to use room for BWAY openings) OR this gets announced on Sunday and in the Times first thing Monday morning. The former would have to happen for Sunday on-sale as previously suggested was the sale date, however.
It's hard to remember how much I wanted a rumor to be true more than this. Which is to say: ColorTheHours048, I am coming after you with a knife if this doesn't pan out!

Anyone know whether Denee would be transferring to Broadway with this? I had heard the only reason she was even able to do Encores was because “Gilded Age” is currently filming in Rhode Island, for scenes that don’t involve her character. Given that she has a fairly sizable role in the series, I can’t imagine HBO would be able to work around another two months of her not shooting?
I thought her Cinderella was lovely, so I hope they can make the timing work!

Yes, Cindy Adams (whose late husband was the comic Joey Adama) wrote like that from her very start in the late 50's. The late Walter Winchell also wrote that way. It was said they did that because it was easier to read on public transportation.

I don’t think she’ll move with it because they’re shooting over the summer.

I don’t know how announcements usually work, but I have noticed we get theater news on Tuesdays and Thursdays? Maybe? Mostly? Just a random thought, so many Monday or Tuesday?

I don’t know anything about the transfer, but I do know Heather won’t be available if it happens.
