After tomorrows nominations. What shows do we think will be posting closing announcements.
In some years I would have had a list of some shows. (Honestly I thought the prom would have closed months ago but it looks like it may be a contender for nominations).

If Cher doesn't get a ton of love minus Block, and no real movement of sales after tomorrow I could see them wrapping it up by Labor Day and really just banking on great sales thru the summer before touring.
The Cher Show or (sadly) The Prom.
If the Prom somehow manages to not snag a Best Musical nomination nor any nominations at all I'd expect a closing notice, but that is highly unlikely.
Nothing else that is running is currently running on Tony nomination/win fumes. The only other shows that I could see closing up shop early if they are snubbed from any nominations are Gary and Hillary and Clinton, but both shows are limited runs to begin with.

I think The Cher Show will do fine over the summer and probably will last through the end of the year. The most in trouble will probably be The Prom and Be More Chill.

I think Be More Chill would last through the summer crowd and close around Labor Day, though it could run longer if it snags a best musical nomination.  The Prom could fare similarly even with a best musical nomination (I can't really foresee it actually winning much, unfortunately).
I don't really see anything immediately posting a closing notice after nominations except maybe Cher Show or Pretty Woman, but both of those should benefit from the summer crowd anyway.
I suspect The Prom receives a fair number of nominations tomorrow, doesn't win anything come Tony night, and posts a Labor Day closing notice. Would be a great run for the show!
No particular order - Prom, Cher, or Kong

BURN THIS, even if Adam Driver is nominated.
BE MORE CHILL.
Burn This?
That makes sense.

This will also depend on which extra show (besides the Best Musical nominees) gets to perform at the Tonys, too. Two years ago, Bandstand got an extra leg up after the Jill Biden thing, and thanks to that press, it lasted longer after the awards than Great Comet. If BMC isn't nominated, I could see it putting up some money to perform, or the Cher Show could try and showcase Stephanie J. Block - maybe in a duet with Cher, kind of like the Beautiful presentation in 2014.

I believe Burn This is a limited engagement. (And their replacement has already been announced)
So, now that the nominations are out, when do we start hearing closing announcements? This is going to be very interesting, and for many, very sad.
Updated On: 4/30/19 at 08:51 AMPretty Woman probably announces first. No nominations. I actually forgot it was still playing.
Unlike in past years, I don't think anything announce right away, but this does make me think Pretty Woman, King Kong, and Be More Chill are in imminent danger of closing.

The Cher Show is in some danger as well, but I can imagine Block and Mackie winning and a big splashy number that might get some butts in seats.

I could see Lear not making it to July 7th. Given their grosses and only one nomination, could easily see them posting soon.
I would have said Gary before this morning, but I’m thrilled that it will probably hold on at least until the Tonys.

I would agree as much as I hate the idea of the Cher show closing I feel it’s run is numbered. Though a smartly crafted showcase at the Tonys may keep it around longer. ( for me, hopefully thru to January).

Other shows like pretty woman, Kong, be more chill I feel will be closing up by Labor Day.

Honestly I would have thought that it may have been a different story and that shows like ain’t too proud, the prom and beetlejuice would be the first to go. My guess is the prom will be here til at least Labor Day

It also proves what another poster had commented asking about which jukebox musical would close seeing as by November there would be (moulin rouge, beautiful, Cher, ain’t too proud, Tina). I wonder if any of these upcoming announced jukes will take note ( Michael Jackson, Britney Spears, Destiny’s child)

I think Be More Chill is fine as long as their fanbase keeps popping in. I think Pretty Woman’s days are numbered. Such a shame it got no love this season
Right NOW, I don't know if these are gonna put any nails in the coffin at least on the musical front. Pretty Woman didn't get anything but they are still a tourist favorite.
The Cher Show is gonna be fine. Even with the lack of love today they will pay for a performance and it will boost them through the summer. And show SJB win, people will buy tickets to see her in the role.
Be More Chill in serious danger. They NEED to pay to perform for ANY hope of getting some ticket boosts but if it doesn't just capture major attention, it will close right after awards.
At the end of the day, the REAL one in the most trouble is King Kong. Unlike other shows that didn't get love that can just pay to perform for publicity, they CAN'T bring Kong with them to Radio City. They now have to SOMEHOW convince the telecast to either record and play a taped performance from their theatre OR broadcast live from their theatre and we all know how THAT went with Hello Dolly. They need the publicity but are going to struggle the most to get it.

Am I the only one reading the grosses here? BMC is fine, as long as it keeps above 500k a week. (which it's doing handily) Summer ain't even here yet. A paid performance on the Tonys would help, yes. I can imagine CBS is seething by the lack of it which could've brought in younger viewers.
King Kong and Pretty Woman are the two shows in immediate danger.
BMC is FINE because Jen Tepper says they don’t care that critics hate their show because they’re making ART they BELIEVE in.

Oh well, in that case if Jen Tepper said it...  (excuse me while I vomit).
She's a former Ken Davenport intern, and let's say the apple doesn't fall very far...
Any moment now the Kickstarter should be up and running to raise money for them to appear on the Tonys!
