and guys...
just know that all of us at RENT would agree that the fact that you don't have (or won't drop) a grand on a theatre ticket does not impune your passion for the show.
we (including Jonathan) live on because of your devotion!

But I'll only go if you sing along :).
Last time I went the person I went with decided to sing along. I wish I could have ripped off my arm so I had something beat them with.
Yeah last time I went to see it there was some middle aged guy singing it a few seats down from me. I was like honey, pleeeaasee. So yeah I live like 20 min from the city! Fredi, bring us city kids on a movie date!

Haha. No my friend is a fan, so she knew all the words. It's hard to decide whether I would rather have questions or singing. Probably singing.
Fredi you are amazing. Since you don't live in NYC...think you'll ever go back as a performer? What role would you KILL to play?
Fredi I want to see the movie with you. You're one tough, fiece lady and we were all afraid of you during the OBC days.. Thats why I love you.. you took no crap from the nasty ass fans.
I think it's so cool that you're on the boards, like seriously.

I'm in Rutherford....Giants Stadium is like in my backyard! I used to hate my town when I was little, it was so boring. But now I love it! It's so pretty and green...I don't think I'll ever be able to actually live in the city. But it's nice being just a 20 minute drive away from it.
yea i live on the island..so its about an hour away.

i'm on the island as well... a 30 minute train ride.
I went with my best bud, and both of us aren't fans, and we laughed out loud at the stupidity of all the people around us.
Yay for the Island!!

Beka, I'm just saying that this event is more open to the public than others like it. Phantom is becoming the longest-running show on Broadway this January and it's completely invite-only. The Rent anniversary is invite-only, but any and everyone can sign up to receive an invitation, it isn't some exclusive event like Phantom will be.
And I didn't mean "Rentheads" as in the only Rent fans in the first 2 rows. I meant Rentheads like in the tradition of having to pay only $20 for the best seats in the house. Even though the rest of the seats are starting at $1000, they're still not breaking that tradition because they still realize how important that is to the show.
dmb_rent, they're not sending out the invitations to people who signed up until February or March.
Fredi, I don't mean to be ignoring you in your own thread, so hi!

you can hate auditions all you want - it's simply counterproductive...
going into any endeavor with a positive attitude, can be a major factor in achieving positive results..
and i wouldn't think of it as being "judge"
you are being "considered"
believe me, as a director I can tell you that we want nothing more than for everyone we see to be great!! And because you are not hired - doesn't mean you were not loved...
it can be THE hardest decision sometimes because so many talented people come through the door... but in the end, you must do what's right for the piece overall...
but you can make great relationship from audition when you don't get the job - those people remember you and will call you in for things down the line - trust me on this.
i also think it's really wonderful that they kept the lotto tradition.
(i've got fiddler in my head now..TRADITIONNN hahaha)

Ok so it isn't that i despise auditioning, most of the time I'm excited but right now since they are auditions into programs and I only had a month to find 2 songs and 2 monologues and all that...and I feel like everything depends on these auditions...which it doesnt but I love the second school that im auditioning for.
So i will just have to get used to auditioning!

anyone who lives within an hour of new york,
send me a pm with your email address and we'll pick a date to go.
Sometimes being on the other side of that table is harder than auditioning.. I've done both, I have respect for both sides of it.. It's especially hard when you see a ton of talent and only have a few characters to cast..
