Hi Fredi! I just wanted to pop in and say that I think you are awesome! Sadly, I was too young to see the OBC of RENT, but I listen to the cast recording all the time. I also think that it is awesome that performers like yourself are a part of this message board.

Anyways, I would love to stay and chat, but I have to go do something with my family. Hopeully I can come back later!

for those of you who were on the Wagon thread... you may remember that I'm working on making the transition behind the camera.

as i was saying... writing for the screen is a great joy, but that aspect of the biz is just as, if not more difficult than acting...

doesn't help that i keep writing big-budget period pieces *sigh* but i just love 'em...

yes, tiff - the one for JLM and QL (she's had it for 10 months with no bite...it will soon be released to her competition)

and it feels great to be loved on BWW... i find you guys very refreshing.

as for getting back on the boards...

i need a role guys ... there's nothing available for me..

part of why i started writing in the first place.

but - for some reason - have yet to write for stage. direct stage (a great joy) but write film... probably because i'm an image person - which is why directing stage works for me as well.

shooting my first short (indie) this summer...

I am glad to hear you liked it, even though I seriously doubt you would have not. I am thrilled that in my circle of viewers and RENT fans, there were more positive responses as opposed to negative.

actually - as a blacktress, my career is just beginning...

i'll be in what i call "blacktress limbo" until i'm much older... then i'd like to do a Judi Dench...

again - not many (being generous) roles for black women in the middle age group... it's only now just getting better for the white girls...

the real reason i started to write. i'm like all those divas out there with nothing to do? surely i could come up with some good roles for them... (don't write for myself - can't be objective enough...)

That is really awesome that you are writing though, I could never do that! And congrats on your indie, I would love ot see it.
