would you ever consider going in as a replacement in any show? Hairspray?
have you kept up on the theater scene? what have you seen, what did you think?

Awww thanks. I love Anthony in that movie. It has been one of my favorites for a while.
blacktress! I lOVE IT! i'm thinking that should officially be added to the dictionary, perhaps that has been used before...well thats the first time i heard it....yea.....I too enjoy writing, but i often find it difficult to stay with one story, i've attempted (at least) 50 plays but they all ended up in the trash because i lost interest, how do you suggest I keep at it fredi?
Wow, I feel out of the loop. I've been on this board since 2003, and never knew Fredi posted here. Anyways, hey Fredi! *rocks out to TMOLM-obcr*.
Hah, Wax Lion. Fredi, is there any chance you know Wax Lion's true identity?
I think you (Fredi) would make a GREAT Mama Morton in CHICAGO.

'SUP SPIDER!
yes, a legend in my own mind and on BWW...
of course i'll let you guys know about the indie.. (it's intended for the festivals... and after, who knows...?
already replaced - did Rafiki - LOVED it!
was seen for Mabel (they went older and with a 60's icon - makes sense..)
would replace Sophia in a heartbeat... LOVE that song
replacing is not a stigma in my eyes. I'm an actor and working is always a blessing in this biz... good roles is all i ask (and that's A LOT to ask at times...)
Is there anything in The Color Purple that may be available for you at some point? I'm not too familiar with the musical but saw some clips and it blew me the hell away!
I would personally love to see you do something again, I really hope you can find something you love. I too was too young when Rent came out originally (I was like 9) so I never saw you but if you ever are on broadway again, I will pay almost any price to see you onstage!
And thank oy ufor being on here because I dont feel like as much of a loser for being home on a friday night since I am talking to you!

Hey Fredi! Good to have you around!
when we come together-it's like no time has passed... it's almost scary how we fall back into our same dynamics..
That made me smile so much. Thats why you guys rock.
As much as I loved Tracie, I still missed your Joanne. I have the '96 press tape and absolutely loved your TMOLM.

It's so great when performers who we admire so much take the time to talk to us. Thank you.
Haha, this is so weird, I stumbled across this thread just as I was listening to "We're okay"
Nobody sings that song like Fredi.

hahahaaaaaaa
i LOVE being home on a Friday night... just me and hubby... *ahhhhh*
Thanks to another post I just read I thought of a question to ask you.
I am a college student in musical theater aspiring to be on Broadway some day. I have heard all the horror stories about be a starving artist (which as hard as it is I find the thought of it exciting) but my question is, was it worth it? And how was your exxperience in particular?

Hey Fredi! It's super cool to be talking to you. Just wanted to let you know that I think you're awesome. "We're Okay" is one of my favorite songs (playing now actually) and I have always tried to get that song down because it's so difficult. How long did it take you?

being a starving artist SUCKS!!!
WARNING -
DON'T GO INTO THEATRE OR ACTING UNLESS YOU ARE COMPLETELY INSANE OR IT'S IMPOSSIBLE FOR YOU TO DO ANYTHING ELSE AND BE HAPPY!!!
In my case - some of both....
Seriously - I HAD to... the only place I can be ALL OF ME is onstage... that's why I've stuck with it all this time and it paid off for me - but for many, it never does....
I've never been to Vegas. My entire life is a gamble. It's the most serious choice you will ever make and I don't suggest you do it lightly.
You'll watch your friends buy homes, cars, get married have REAL jobs - be able to pay their rent/mortgages.. all because they chose to work in a field they can actually see immediate results in.
Not true for us - some hit it big quick (but most of them fade out)
some hit it big once - and that's it... *looks in mirror*
some NEVER hit at all...
and there's no way to know until you're dead.
sounds like a bummer - it can be
would I trade it? NEVER!
I've had a ball and am still having one...but i'm never gonna sugarcoat this for you guys. Seriously, think about the kind of life you want to live. if you want to indulge in life's little luxuries and don't want to sweat paying bills... do something else that has a steadier paycheck.
