I just bought my $99 ticket now and I can always flip it later if I need to
Even if I win a lottery or something, $99 + lottery price is still a net discount on what ever is being charged right now

With George Clooney making his Broadway debut (and less than 100 performances), I wouldn't be so sure.
I don't know anything about this physical production, but I've sat in these $99 seats before for other shows and while you're certainly off to the side a bit, the view is great.

I did see one lone front row far right mezz seat for $99, I forget which day. I was checking late May and first week of June [Edited - I just went back to look and the $99 seat in front row R-Mezz is Tue June 3rd]
I purchased 2nd row mezz left on the aisle for June. I'm hoping the view is not that bad.
View from my seat reviews are good for that seat but that is for musicals. Not sure how the view will be for an intimate play.

Oh there absolutely will be cheaper tickets, there always is, the dream will be a reality.
That's one of the more effective trailers I've seen for a play. Even if it makes it look like a film (and, specifically, the film it's based on).
We were browsing tickets tonight. Nothing cheaper than $150 and it's surprisingly, or not, very well sold. Are they holding tickets back or is Clooney selling this a month and a half before first preview?

From the piece: "The stage will be transformed into a newsroom with about 30 monitors moving around, showing old footage."

George Clooney Is a Little Nervous About His Broadway Debut “There’s all this panic.”

I do not get why people are interested in this other than Clooney could read a newspaper live on stage and sheep would line up to purchase overpriced tickets. It’s the same writers as the 2005 film (Clooney and Grant Heslov) and Clooney starring again. What is the point, other than a completely cynical cash grab? it’s just going to be the film, live on stage. Who cares? Also, the film is just a bit over 90 minutes long so I’m expecting this to be another short, intermission-less slog. I keep getting an ad on Facebook that says “Tickets from $175.00”. LOL. Have fun.

it's not the same role. Clooney played Fred Friendly in the 2005 film - now he's playing Murrow.
Also - a little bit of trivia - Clooney originally envisioned the 2005 movie as a live telefilm, something akin to the version of Fail-Safe he was part of. So arguably, a stage adaptation may be closer to his original vision for the material.

Thanks for the info re Clooney’s role. I updated my post. It still feels like a totally unnecessary cash grab, though.
$49 digital lottery and in-person rush starts this week, as well as $69 SRO tickets in the case of a sold-out performance.
