The movie was excellent! However some of the singing was a little weak at times.

Just came back from an advanced screening in Philadelphia and they handed the soundtrack big posters for trivia questions before the movie started. They gave everyone small posters after the movie.

Ummmm...is this the CD or the movie? Either way, I think I'll try to hold out for the theater experience (again). Serious temptation though.

Seriously. Why would you post that on a main thread?

I'm not very impressed by the soundtrack...am trusting the people who say it works on screen!
I love Anthony and Johanna though.

Phyllis, I actually laughed out loud in my office at that! And now you have inspired me to dress as a pregnant teen for "Juno"!

When "Nine" comes out, I'm going to attend in a bed sheet and nothing else!
And seriously... why start a thread about "I got something before you did and I'm SO EXCITED!"
I don't think you're lying at all... but what was the purpose?

Some of the soundtrack can be found on that "forbidden" site by just searching Sweeney Todd.

I can wait for the Midnight showing with my family. I was just curious how others found the sound to be. Especially with this show, I too want to see it in context before just hearing the soundtrack.
Phyllis and Uncageg, that had me laughing too. I'm going to the Midnight showing as Mrs. Lovett and holding a bake sale after the show. Might as well earn some extra cash for the CD and DVD release while I'm there.

I thought that I might think that as well but I've just finished listening to the CD and it's much better than I expected it to be and totally worth it.

The CD, both editions has been available in the shops in London since last Monday. Advance sreenings have been everywhere the last 2 weeks and its not released in the UK for another 6 weeks. I saw a screening in New York last Thurs at 8.45 in the morning! Please! -I set 50 alarm clocks and it was worth it! Im still in a whirl from it. 10/10
A young actress with Noel coward after a dreadful opening night performance said to him 'Well, i knew my lines backwards this morning!''
Noels fast reply was ''Yes dear, and thats exactly how you said them tonight'!'

SPOILERS (as if nobody knows....)
The movie(some parts) and music are all over youtube. Even with behind the scenes interview and the singing of Depp in the studio.
